Greenwood Ave, Tulsa Salary: $14.42 / hour Status: Part-Time, 20 hours / week Schedule*: Sunday: 1pm to 5pm Monday: 8am to 12pm Tuesday: 8am to 12pm Wednesday: 12pm to 4pm Thursday: 10am to 2pm *Hours posted will apply after the opening of new location; interim hours subject to training schedule: weekdays between 9am and 6pm. Essential Functions and Qualifications Include: • Provides general information in person and by phone assisting customers in locating and discovering materials, connecting with available library services, or providing information about the library, referring reference questions to the appropriate resource; • Assists customers with self check-out machines by instructing how to charge, renew, and discharge library materials to/from customers; • Enjoys a work atmosphere where staff are encouraged to be creative, be innovative and try something new. • Registers customers by issuing and updating library cards; • Sorts and routes returned materials to proper location and ensures that the library is neat and organized so customers can easily find what they need; • Helps customers with basic technology and Internet access; • Other duties as necessary. Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required • Some college coursework preferred • Previous customer service experience is a plus What It's Like to Work at Tulsa City-County Library: Library work is about people first. Physical Activity & Environmental Conditions For most positions work regularly requires stooping, bending and light lifting such as three or four reams of paper, four or five books, or other materials (up to 20 pounds). Some positions require moderate physical exertion, such as regularly lifting moderately heavy items (up to 40 pounds) such as crates full of books or pushing heavy (up to 100 pounds) wheeled carts full of books, on a highly frequent basis and/or assuming awkward positions.
