Bus Driver Liberty School District is accepting applications for a Bus Driver for the 2026-27 school year. The position will be 180 days with a range of 3-5 hours per day with morning/afternoon routes, dependent on 2026-27 student enrollment. Training will be provided Summer 2026. Summary: Operates a school bus in a legal and safe manner, transporting students to and from school, activities and field trips away from the school, as directed by performing the following duties. Interested applicants must have: • High School diploma or equivalent • Valid Washington State driver's license, with 5 years of prior driving experience • CDL Class B license with air brake, passenger and school bus endorsements or willingness to obtain • Valid 1st Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain • Ability to be self-motivated and a self-starter • Undergo pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing Essential duties and responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Know, understand and consistently apply all practices of "School Bus Driver Handbook" published by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). • Possess excellent visual acuity. • Be familiar with tasks specifically required in transporting disabled students. Keep all certificate requirements current. • Adhere to all district health and safety policies. • Drive buses safely on regular scheduled routes, field or activity trips, or as needed to meet the functions of the overall operation needs of the district. • Maintain control over student passengers, utilizing effective communications and student management techniques. • Participate in bus driver training courses as established by OSPI. • Instruct students in emergency bus evacuation procedures. (Conducts drills twice a year) • Report misconduct on bus through established district procedures. • Operate two-way radio as needed. • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip bus inspection to ensure that all parts are operating and the bus is safe. • Fuel bus as needed. Clean interior daily and clean exterior of bus as needed. Complete daily log forms and other required paperwork accurately and promptly. • Physically able to maneuver and control a school bus under all driving conditions. • Able to use all hand/foot operated controls and equipment. Salary: TBD for 2026-27 ($23.26 - $31.26 per hour for 2025-26 school year) Benefits: Liberty School District offers a competitive benefits package to employees who work half-time or more.
