We are currently seeking a Health & Safety Manager to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located preferably in our Phoenix, AZ; Boise, ID; Butte, MT; Helena, MT; Missoula, MT; or Spokane, WA offices. As our Health & Safety Manager, you will play a critical role in collaborating with technical staff to manage and continually improve site health and safety programs for environmental remediation, site characterization, and remedial construction projects, including active and legacy mine sites. Serving clients in the energy, government, industrial and manufacturing sectors, you will help our teams and subcontractors maintain safety compliance and enhance our culture. You'll travel as needed up to 50% throughout the Mountain West region to provide expertise, training, and leadership, while reporting to the Corporate Health & Safety Director and collaborating with project and regional teams. Duties/Responsibilities • Act as a key influencer to continuously improve H&S culture and be consistently relied upon by Project Managers, Project Principals, Staff Managers, and others as a valued partner to safely deliver client services. • Serve as a technical expert, reviewer, and advisor on projects related to H&S. • Apply H&S theory, procedures, and approaches during planning and implementation of projects. Work with project teams to integrate safety into planning and execution of work. Serve as the technical reviewer of instruments of service such as Health and Safety Plans (HASPs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and audits. • Manage and oversee conformance with client-specific H&S programs. Partner with client teams to engage with clients as part of project planning and delivery. • Develop, facilitate, and deliver H&S training, and mentor staff to ensure they have the tools, training, and knowledge necessary to perform their day-to-day functions. • Collaborate with corporate H&S staff in continuous improvement of H&S systems and tools by identifying improvements through engaging with and obtaining feedback from project teams and local leaders. Lead the implementation of improvements. • Perform field visits to understand how H&S programs impact the work we do and improve our safety culture. Observe on-site project activities using planned audits and assessments to identify hazards, ensure they are understood by staff, and help staff operate safely in conformance with corporate and client expectations. • Work with project teams to ensure they have the health & safety tools, training, and knowledge necessary to perform their day-to-day job functions. • Screen and prequalify subcontractors and promote alignment with H&A and client safety culture. • Support initial documentation of positive safety observations, incidents, injuries, and near misses in a reporting tool. Work with project teams to resolve H&S concerns. • Lead and facilitate incident investigations, using empathy, humble inquiry, and applying technical H&S knowledge to identify systemic root causes and corrective actions to aid in preventing recurrence of similar incidents. Skills/Experience • B.S. in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline. • At least 10 years of experience with a Health & Safety background for MSHA and HAZWOPER projects. • Professional certifications such as CSP, CHMM, and CIH are preferred, or ability to obtain in the first year. • Strong commitment to compliance with company and client Health & Safety protocols. • Completed training/certifications in HAZWOPER, DOT HAZMAT, OSHA 30-hour construction preferred, or ability to obtain within first year. • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of applicable government regulations, H&S compliance, industrial hygiene, and company policies. Exhibits a thorough knowledge of current H&S management theory. • Valid driver's license and clean driving record. • Emotional intelligence and collaborative mindset to engage with offices, project teams, and clients across our Mountain West offices, with travel up to 50%. Travel is designed to directly impact safety culture and operational excellence, support high-visibility initiatives, provide hands-on mentorship, and deliver meaningful improvements across the region. The company supports flexible scheduling and travel planning to ensure work-life balance. • Must be fit for duty for multiple sites and activities including, but not limited to, working outdoors in all environments, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, kneeling, walking, for long periods of time, passing a HAZWOPER exam, and wearing a respirator. Preferred Skills • Direct experience providing H&S support for large-scale MSHA and environmental projects, including experience working on active and legacy mine sites. • Familiarity with contaminated site management, characterization, and remediation field activities, and willingness to occasionally support delivery of field activities. • Experience implementing digital H&S management or reporting systems. • Be self-directed and able to work productively and prioritize multiple tasks, initiatives, and projects. • Able to mentor local H&S coordinators, provide coaching to staff members on H&S aspects of office and project related tasks. • Applies emotional intelligence to recognize, communicate, and resolve project-related concerns, fostering an open and supportive work environment. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and leverage relationships to seek continuous improvement opportunities, promote our safety culture, and facilitate H&S in planning and execution of projects. • Strong communication skills including verbal and written, communicating internally and externally. The salary range for this position in Phoenix, AZ; Boise, ID; Butte, MT; Helena, MT; Missoula, MT; and Spokane, WA is $92,000 - $124,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Purpose of Position: The Customer Service Representative I handles calls from customers to resolve, educate, follow-up and respond to questions regarding California Choice/Choice Builder plan administration and procedures groups, members, brokers and general agencies. Essential Functions: • Understanding of company policies and procedures as they apply to California Choice/Choice Builder plans. • Answers questions by telephone from groups regarding new hires, billings, rates, supplies, administrative procedures, etc. • Educates, via telephone, employees/dependents regarding PCP's, ID cards, RX problems, administrative procedures, dependent coverage, address changes, etc. • Follows-up on calls and emails from brokers regarding problems that their groups are experiencing with providers. • Ability to interact with brokers, general agents and sales representatives on a daily basis and must be able to answer questions regarding California Choice processes. • Responds to calls from providers to confirm eligibility and benefits. • Verifies enrollments and resolves issues with carriers. • Expedites processing of members enrollment with carrier if urgent services are needed. • Review and submit appeal requests from groups. • Review /Audit group billing and explain to clients in clear and accurate manner. • Document calls in call tracking system. • Departmental standard requires each Customer Service Representative to provide Service of Unequalled Excellence to all callers by maintaining an average of 90% or greater on Call Reviews. • Answer at least 100% of the daily call volume average. • Provide clear and explicit documentation while maintaining percentage at a level of 90% or higher daily. • Make busy time of 20 minutes or less per day. • Meet department standards for quality and quantity of work. • Meet department and team standards for turnaround times. • Adhere to all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and PHI (Personal Health Information) guidelines. • On-site regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job. • Performs other business tasks or functions as assigned.
