Functions • Pick orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is loaded. • Measure, weigh, and count products and materials. • May be required to operate a forklift or order picker for picking orders. • Pack orders for shipments by parcel, LTL, and TL carriers. • Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records. • Affix proper shipping and tracking labels to boxes and pallets. Mark and label shipping boxes or products per DOT, IATA, IMDG regulations. • Report missing items or quality variances to direct supervisor. • Ensure outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. • Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met. Execute and document quality inspections per standard operating procedures. • Participate in inventory/cycle count as needed. • Maintain clean, neat, and orderly work area. • Ensure facility is inspection ready at all times for SQFI, FDA, and customer needs. • Communicate and report any incidents. • May perform housekeeping duties. • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisor. OverviewLaboratory Quality Assurance Technician LOCATION: Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, FL JOB STATUS: Full-time CERTIFICATION: N/A TRAVEL: Limited; as needed Must be US citizen Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a 2nd Shift Laboratory Quality Assurance Technician for the Laboratory Support Services and Operations (LASSO) II contract, supporting the Space Division. This fulltime represented position is responsible for supporting component refurbishment critical to ground and launch processing. Work will be performed onsite at the Kennedy Space Center. This position is being hired to support 2nd shift operations. However, the individuals will be required to train on 1st shift for an initial period to ensure full proficiency with operational procedures, equipment, and safety requirements. Additionally, based on mission needs and workload demands, the employee may be asked to provide continued or periodic support to 1st shift on a long term basis. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS * High school diploma (or GED) * 2 years of experience in quality assurance or inspection of systems and equipment, preferably in the aerospace field DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS * Experience in chemical and material processes, sampling processes, testing and measurement techniques, inspection methodology, reading engineering drawings, use of specifications, standards and precision measurement equipment. * Ability to read, comprehend and follow prescribed procedures for components/job in progress. * Basic knowledge of mathematics. * Ability to use computers and printers used for Work instructions, viewing drawings & specifications, producing reports, time keeping and schedules. * Position may require second shift work and overtime including weekend work depending on task. * Must be dependable and punctual. RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide quality assurance support to the CRCA project to include: • Monitoring hydrostat and disassembly operations, decontamination operations, reassembly of functional components and bubble point tests, reassembly/reinstallation operations on systems, particle counts performed by Clean Room Technicians; • Monitoring flow booth and clean room controls (temperature, humidity, pressure, cleanliness, particle contamination), performing hazardous vapor detection as required and reporting out-of-specification conditions; • Witness processes performed on flight hardware, hydraulic functional tests and final leak tests; • Verify equipment cleanliness during hookup and disassembly of equipment on field cleaning jobs; • Verify cleaning operations are in compliance with procedures and verifications; • Perform NVR determinations, microscopic determinations, particle counts on samples, Halogen and dewpoint tests, final inspection of components such as tubing, flexhose and piping systems; • Perform analyses with use of analytical instrumentation; • Perform documentation and reporting of minor discrepancies, daily monitoring and test data with use of computer; • Perform hydrocarbon and moisture monitoring with use of analytical meters; • Perform inspections in confined spaces and at elevations when required. • Review work authorization documents to determine cleaning and testing requirements. • Assure cleaning and/or testing fluids and test equipment are within specification for proper use. • Visually inspect system/parts/components prior to collecting a sample for validation of cleaning jobs. • Assure controls are adequate to maintain cleanliness after sampling. • Validate the integrity of components/parts/systems by affixing stamped/dated certification tags and tamper-proof decals to completed #CJ #LI-CK1
