The Assistant Store Manager must also inspire and motivate others by exhibiting core value behaviors-including a customer focused selling culture, and ensuring the execution of the Store's KPl's. Assistant Managers also must hold store employees accountable to following all policies and procedures. A day in the life, what you'll be doing: • Displays a customer-focused mindset at all times and ensures all team members deliver an engaging, positive and authentic customer experience • Handles customer situations in compliance with policy and procedures, attempts to "solve for yes" and escalates issues as appropriate • Maintains a clean and well organized store, promoting a safe working and shopping environment to maximize the customer experience • Shares feedback from customers with the leadership team to improve the overall customer experience • Performs as the floor supervisor role as needed to cover non-peak periods (breaks etc.) • Delivers an engaging, positive and authentic customer experience with all customers • Displays a customer-focused mindset at all times and ensures all team members deliver an engaging, positive and authentic customer experience • Holds self and others responsible for the accomplishment of all operational tasks • Coaches and provides feedback on Sales Associate's performance • Supports associate engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance • Provides direction to associates to ensure understanding of company directives and standards • Prioritizes and delegates tasks to meet all operational needs • Supports and executes visual directives and maintains visual standards set by the company • Drives efficiency in all operational store processes • Maintains merchandise flow, filling and presentation standards throughout the store and stockroom • Maintains a clean and well organized stockroom and store, promoting a safe working and shopping environment to maximize the customer experience • Ensures all store associates follow all policies, procedures and all Safety Program practices • Reflects the PacSun brand by demonstrating passion and affinity for product, brands, fashion and trends • Inspires and motivates others by consistently exhibiting core value behaviors • Demonstrates willingness, aptitude, and initiative to learn what is unknown about product, brands, fashion and trends What it takes to Join: • Passion for product, brands, fashion and trends • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred • Effective written, verbal and presentation skills • Strong communications skills • Excellent time management skills • Proficient in math and possesses strong computer skills Developing the Community/ Leadership Qualities: • Operate with the highest level of conduct, integrity, and confidentiality; setting the example for leaders and associates. • Develop and nurture strong cross functional partnerships; driving business results and inspiring a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability. • Serve as a Pacsun advocate in the industry and marketplace. • Recruit, identify, develop, and retain talent that delivers performance excellence. • As a manager, serve as a leader of company culture, norms, and conduct. • Ability to balance a strong management presence with a high level of approachability, encouraging and eliciting associate feedback and interaction. Physical Requirements: • The physical demands described here are representative of those that are required by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. • The associate must frequently sit/stand for long periods of time and climb ladders as needed. • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; as well as reach, twist or squat. • Ability to maneuver around sales floor, stockroom and office areas. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. • Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting. • Hotel, Airplane, and Car Travel may be required for SM and above roles only. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a part-time position. Ability to work a range between 20-40 hours per week is required. As a National Retailer, flexibility with work schedule (able to work weekends, nights, peak holiday periods) is required.
