A Brief Summary of This Position: This individual contributor position is responsible for the performance of four basic functions: Site security and safety, first aid and, observation of property and equipment for abnormalities, and primary point of contact for employee and non-employee questions related to site access and security. May adjust as needed due to business needs · Greets all persons entering or calling the office building and provide appropriate information · Responds to emergency situations, e.g., issues of work place violence, guest or associates stranded in elevators, accidents, fires, medical emergencies, crime in progress, alarm notifications, etc. Assists with emergency procedures and may direct public safety officials. Provide associates and guest escorts to and from facility · Patrols the facility to provide physical security and safety protection for the facility and associates, may be required to patrol the campus either on bike, foot or in vehicle. · Serves as a source of information for employees and non-employees. · Must demonstrate outstanding integrity throughout the performance of the duties assigned. · Must possess and use excellent judgment and a sensitive dimension in dealing with questions, problems, and situations requiring direction to solutions and services in the spirit of company policy and goals. · The incumbent must evaluate each call for this service in an accurate and decisive manner in accordance with Nebraska State Medical and Department Protocols. Other Important Details about the Role: · The Security duties require self-motivation and relentless dedication to confidentiality. · Responsible for monitoring CC TV/Security systems, fire systems and remote access monitoring systems. May be tasked with operating the access control system to allow or deny access, create access cards, create system reports and maintain the access control data base. · Demonstrate an ability to act on situations with respect to Valmont's policies and goals. · Observes, questions, reports and acts on possible improprieties that may occur. · Acts swiftly and confidently in emergency settings to gain control and minimize, if not prevent injury, or loss of life. Monitors property and equipment and reports abnormalities or concerns according to defined protocols. · Demonstrates excellent judgment in dealing with questions, problems, and situations requiring direction to solutions and services. On many occasions the incumbent will temporarily be the company representative with customers and visitors. Required Qualifications of Every Candidate: · High School diploma and 2+ years of related work/educational experience. · Knowledge in the following areas: basic law, physical security methods, site access control, confidential information control, theft control and investigation, incident investigation, high security lock repair-installation, alarm monitoring and systems, safety procedures and policies, fire protection methods and systems, and C-TPAT procedures. · Must have and maintain a valid vehicle operator's license. · Knowledge of emergency first aid and rescue, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation methods · Professional attitude and demeanor reflecting the concerns and mission of Valmont Industries, Inc. is necessary. · Annual training review of the facilities hazardous waste management program. · Must have the ability to learn and recognize safe and un-safe operating conditions. The successful candidates will perform a variety of skilled tasks including operating snow removal and de-icing equipment, repairing and maintaining roadways, cleaning culverts and catch basins, removing debris and hazards, and providing traffic control to protect the traveling public and work crews. Required Experience, Training & Eligibility Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
