PrimaryJobResponsibilities: Safety • Maintain a safe work environment for employees and customers by setting safety as a priority • Ensuregas pumps, lot and store areasare clean and free of debris at all times • Work with Safety Team and conduct monthly mandatory meetings andtrainings • Report safety incidentsin a timely mannerandcomply withsafety policy,programsand processes Leadership and Personnel Management • Train, develop,guideand evaluate employees tooperatethe storeeffectively and safely to provide superior customer service • Maintain a professional and supportive image among subordinates and supervisors • As back-up to Store Managers,prepare andsubmitall employee paperwork accurately andtimelyi.e. (performance appraisals, performance notices, new hire checklist, etc.) • Ensure that all employees receive continuouson-the-joband companyrequired trainingto improve customer service performance and safety awareness • Motivate, providefeedbackandshareemployee recognition to improve individual,teamand store performance • As back-up to Store Manager,address employeeperformanceand violation issues • Set and communicate performance expectations, and evaluate actual performance based on those expectationsas extension of the Store Manager • Develop potential employees through coaching and training so they are ready for promotion to the next level • Carry out all company policies Customer Service and Site Relationships • Consistently provide prompt and courteous customer service, may berequiredtoassistcustomers at the gas pump, andassistsin resolving customer issues • Accurately ring up all sales on POS system,comply withall cash handling procedures, and otherpayment typesfor products sold • Develop positive and professional relationships with all customers,vendorsand contractors • Responsible for all cash,moniesand inventory during shift • As a top priority, develop and assign tasks appropriately to ensure that the store is clean, adequately stocked and organized for fast,convenientand professional service to customers • Ensure a friendly,welcomingand well-maintained store environment to provide customers with a buying experience that meets theirexpectation • Monitor customer needs and expectations, and work with store employees to ensure those needs are met by promoting programs and ensuring suggestive selling • Assistcustomers at the pump and in the store to find the desired product andoperateequipment • Activelysolicitcustomer feedback via consistent personal interactionand engagement • Ensure complaints are resolved quickly and sincerely to the customer's,vendor'sand contractor's satisfaction • Promote and ensure a safe, positive public image within the community • Promote and grow Loyalty Rewards program Business andFinancialManagement • Plan and manager storeactivities to maximize operating profit • Monitor fuel sales volume and competitor pricing toassistthe pricing analyst in development of storespecific fuel pricing strategies and tactics • Monitor merchandise,foodmovementand competitor offerings toassistin development of store specific product mix and pricing strategies • Maintain store layout and product displays per schematics • Execute storelevel sales promotions andassistin implementing network-wide promotional and advertising campaigns • Manage fuel,merchandiseand food inventoryto ensureoptimumstocking levels • Control operating expenses, including maintenance, utilities,suppliesand inventory loss • Prepare andsubmitdaily sales reports accurately andtimely,including,invoicesandbank deposits • Safeguard and account for all money received and disbursed • Organize andmaintainall site files, manuals, and other information materials • Receive merchandise using proper check-in procedures when working with vendors • Obtain andmaintainall required food and age restricted product certifications within 2 weeks of employment Facilities Management • Assistinmaintainingappearance standards of paving, lighting,canopyand other physical structures • Reportfacility issues as needed • Ensure facilities and equipment are in safe working order • Maintain dispensing and store equipment to ensure clean,sanitaryand safe working conditionsat all times • Ensure required signage/decals are posted Personnel Assistance • Maintain a professional and supportive image among subordinates andsupervisor • Work with StoreManager to create,maintain, and improve teamwork, and provide trainingassistanceto new associates • Assistwith staffing and schedule labor to meet customer demand while staying within budget Note: This description is intended to give you a general overview of the position.Additionalresponsibilities and opportunities may beidentifiedbased on current business needs.
