A Brief Overview Responsible for providing all areas of the hospital with instruments, reusable supplies, and/or patient care equipment, that are correctly identified, disassembled, disinfected, and/or decontaminated, inspected, assembled, packaged, and sterilized while adhering to hospital and/or departmental policies and procedures, and other regulatory agencies, (e.g. JCAHO, OSHA).Essential FunctionsProcesses supplies, instruments, and equipment for sterilization to meet and maintain the OR schedule and the needs of other clinical areas. Maintains accurate records to ensure integrity and accuracy of sterilization information and equipment operation. Keeping records of sterilized items daily.Demonstrates an understanding and ability in using the MMIS. Utilizes the handheld terminals or MMIS to replenish all OR inventory locations, (Core, Anesthesia, and Procedure Room), as assigned and restocks the appropriate OR location.Prepares, maintains, and distributes scheduled and emergency surgical case carts to ensure adequate supplies for patient care and departmental needs. Appropriately issues the items through the Lawson MMIS.Cleans and delivers medical equipment and isolettes as needed following the established procedures and protocols.Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.Perform physical requirements as described in the Physical Requirements sectionEducation QualificationsHigh School Diploma or G.E.D. What you'll do as a CDL-A Delivery Driver: • Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition. • Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery. • Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises. • Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions. • Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications you'll bring as a CDL-A Teammate: • At least 21 years of age • Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A) • At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience • Must meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role.
