Job Title: Tire Technician Job Description Join our team as a Tire Technician, where you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including tire balancing, installation, and repairs. You will also conduct routine tire rotations, mount and dismount tires, and stack them as necessary. In this role, you will work on trucks and be involved in changing brakes, oil, and tires, particularly on trucks used for transporting livestock and other materials. Responsibilities • Balance, install, and repair tires. • Perform routine tire rotations. • Mount and dismount tires. • Stack tires as needed. • Change brakes, oil, and tires on various trucks. Essential Skills • Service and general labor skills. • Experience with oil changes, brake repairs, and power tools. • Proficiency in tire rotation, alignment repair, and installation. • Ability to use hand tools and pneumatic equipment. • Understanding of blueprints and preventive maintenance. Additional Skills & Qualifications • 6+ months of general labor experience. • 6+ months experience using hand tools. • 1+ years of experience working in an auto shop. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a large warehouse with hundreds of tire treads alongside a team of four, depending on your department. The work schedule is the first shift from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The environment involves hands-on work with trucks that may not be clean upon arrival. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. What you'll do as a CDL-A Delivery Driver: • Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition. • Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery. • Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises. • Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions. • Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications you'll bring as a CDL-A Teammate: • At least 21 years of age • Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A) • At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience • Must meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role.
