Shipping Lift Operator 2 The Shipping Lift Operator 2 further develops the skills and functions within the shipping department. This role takes on additional responsibilities as they follow departmental policies and procedures to ensure shipments are loaded properly and accurately. The primary responsibility is to operate a forklift with safety and proficiency to complete the accurate staging of products and to load and unload trucks. This role must be knowledgeable in and follow all procedures needed to ensure the proper safe and efficient operations of their department. Position works under established guidelines and company policies. Responsibilities/Essential Functions: • Shows the ability to work in the ERP operating system to pull and print pick tickets, packing slips, bills of lading, shipping labels, shipment grids, material status, and order status. • Safely and effectively operates a forklift in a warehouse environment with small spaces, loads accurately and efficiently balanced truckloads with minimal supervision. • Demonstrates ability to pick and ship sample orders using the ERP system and FedEx shipping system with minimal supervision, assists in Samples area as needed. • Collects and organizes pick sheets from the shipping office to use them to pick and stage products based on carrier and shipment number, verifies stated product, labels for shipment, and scans and loads trucks as directed by Shipping Lead or Management. • Reports any discrepancies in inventory levels or skids scheduled for shipment to the Shipping Lead or Management for corrective action. • Safely and efficiently unloads inbound trucks, accurately verifies counts and product for inbound shipments, verifies shipment to the packing slip, notes any discrepancies or damaged items and notifies management, submits receipts to shipping office for processing, stages and puts away product as required. • Demonstrates ability to check inventory levels in ERP System, accurately assist in counts of assigned materials and products, and assist in all inventory audits including weekly raw material and month-end inventories. • Assists in all phases of housekeeping of the facility and maintains neat and orderly work area. • Demonstrates the ability to scan finished goods into warehouse locations and use the proper mapper to locate products. Required Qualifications: Knowledge/Skill/Ability: • Demonstrated proficiency with previous Shipping Tech level duties including 2 years relevant forklift experience with success in passing Paragon's internal certification. • Ability to effectively and accurately train others in previous Shipping Tech level duties. • Safely and effectively operate a forklift in a warehouse and production environment with small spaces. • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment while adapting to a fast-paced environment and rapid changes. Able to juggle multiple tasks and handle unexpected delays or events while maintaining constant attention to detail. • Able to read and understand shipping documents. • Strong organizational skills combined with good problem-solving skills. • Practice and promote teamwork within our organization. • High level of dependability regarding attendance and punctuality with the ability to be on call as needed for maintenance issues. • Understanding and ability to communicate using the English language in both written and spoken form or willingness to take ESL classes. • Computer skills with proficiency or ability to become proficient in ERP and carrier systems. • Basic mathematic skills. Physical Requirements: • Ability to use hands including fingers to hold, touch, see, feel, grip, squeeze, push, pull. • Ability to perform pushing, pulling, and forward exertion on a regular basis. • Ability to have an overhead extension with arms on a regular basis. • Ability to use enhanced levels of manual dexterity with arms and hands to operate industrial power tools occasionally. • Ability to stand and walk continuously on a concrete floor for 12-hour shifts. • Ability to stand, crouch, stoop, bend, and squat frequently. • Ability to kneel occasionally. • Ability to climb stairs and ladders occasionally. • Ability to twist at the hip and waist area on a regular basis. • Ability to rotate the neck to look backward, up, down, and sideways on a regular basis. • Ability to work on elevated platforms. • Ability to climb on uneven surfaces occasionally. • Ability to regularly lift and or move 45-55 lbs. • Ability to occasionally lift and or move up to 60 lbs. • Ability to understand and communicate verbally, in person, and over a paging system. • Ability to meet requirements of and utilize all PPE when required. Preferred Experience/Qualifications: • High School diploma or equivalent preferred Environmental Conditions: The environment described here is meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of the job. The physical environment requires the employee to work inside in heat/cold, in a moderately loud environment. Required to use PPE while performing job functions.
