Position Description We are seeking energetic and responsible individuals that want to be a part of our growing company. As a prep cook at our Black Bean Deli Commissary Kitchen, you will play a crucial role by assisting with food preparation tasks and ensuring thatour kitchen operates smoothly. Your responsibilities will include: • Assisting in food preparation, including cutting, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and portion sizes. • Adhering to food safety and sanitation practices, maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas and handling food items properly. • Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as knives, slicers, mixers, and food processors. • Monitoring inventory levels and notify management of low stock items, participating in inventory counts and restocking activities. • Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow, timely completion of tasks, and adherence to production schedules. • Following company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including health and safety standards, food handling guidelines, and cleanliness protocols. Qualifications: • Previous experience in a food preparation or kitchen environment preferred but not required. • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and portioning guidelines accurately. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
