Job Class: Food Service Worker Location: Chehalis, WA Closes: Sunday, July 26, 2026 Salary: $39,036 - $50,412 Yearly. The salary does not include an additional 5% on-site 24/7 facility premium. The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is accepting applications for a Food Service Worker to assist in maintaining kitchen operations, supporting food preparation and service, and performing routine cleaning and sanitation duties. The Opportunity: You will provide nutritious meals to youth and staff in accordance with Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) standards. The Food Service Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining kitchen operations and cleanliness, supporting the team, and ensuring meal service runs smoothly. In addition, the role involves teaching youth culinary skills and modeling strong work ethics. These skills help prepare youth for a successful transition back into the community and support their overall rehabilitation within the facility. Some of what you will do: • Prepare the weekly snacks and condiments. • Maintain dining room cleanliness. • Wash and put away dishes and pans. • Keep kitchen laundry clean and folded. • Maintain cleanliness of walk-in refrigerators. • Maintain cleanliness of all bathrooms and ensure supplies are well stocked. • Monitor stock of cleaning supplies, and other non-food items, and submit restock requests • Supervise, monitor, and instruct youth with Food Service Worker Responsibilities as part of their participation in the Work Based Learning Program. Required qualifications: Experience or knowledge of kitchen and dining operations, including food handling, hygiene, sanitation, safety procedures, and proper use of kitchen equipment and utensils. AND • The ability to take action to learn and grow. • The ability to take action to meet the needs of others. In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following: • Must possess a current Food Handler's Permit or obtain one within 14 days of hire. • Must comply with Juvenile Rehabilitation Institutional health screening requirements, including tuberculosis testing, measles and chickenpox immunity, and Hepatitis B vaccination, as indicated. • Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to complete required online training. Merchandise Manager The Merchandise Manager drives merchandising and operational execution, including truck processing, inventory routines, planogram sets, and visual standards. This role ensures accurate pricing, timely promotional execution, and a customer-ready store environment through strong workload planning and inventory management. Major Activities • Assist Store Manager in leading and managing adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements. • Ensure execution of Company policies and standards, holding team accountable for store conditions and results. • Provide Manager-on-Duty (MOD) coverage, maintaining floor leadership, service standards, and operational continuity. • Lead truck execution processes, ensuring timely unloading, accurate sorting, and efficient flow of merchandise to the sales floor. • Own workload planning and daily task prioritization, partnering with store leadership to align staffing and execution to business needs. • Execute and maintain SISO (Store-In-Stock Optimization) routines to drive in-stock levels, replenishment accuracy, and sales readiness. • Oversee Planogram (POG) execution, ensuring merchandising sets are completed accurately and on schedule. • Establish and maintain visual merchandising standards, including initial product placement and presentation to company expectations. • Support a clean, organized, and customer-ready store environment, including backroom organization and sales floor recovery. • Manage key aspects of inventory control, ensuring product accuracy, integrity, and efficient stock movement. • Execute ad sets, ensuring promotional signage and product placement are compliant and customer focused. • Complete price changes accurately and on time, maintaining pricing integrity across the sales floor and systems. • Oversee Ship from Store fulfillment, ensuring orders are picked, packed, and shipped efficiently and accurately. • Process RTVs (Return to Vendor) and ASN receiving, ensuring compliance, documentation accuracy, and proper inventory adjustments. • Manage store damages procedures, ensuring proper handling, reporting, and shrink reduction • Train, coach, and develop team members through structured TM onboarding and ongoing skill-building across assigned departments. • Partner in maintaining strong Asset Protection practices, reducing shrink through awareness, compliance, and safe operations.
