No Refusals. No Applicants from SAP Program. • No DUI convictions, open container, or alcohol related incidents in previous 7 years. • No Careless driving or reckless driving convictions on MVR or PSP in the previous 3 years. • No at fault rear end collisions, rollover accidents, or jackknife accidents in the previous 3 years. • 6 months experience in the past 3 years pulling a 53 ft van if for van fleet of which 12 months. • No more than a combination of 3 qualifications below: No more than 2 at fault accidents in the previous 3 years and No more than 2 moving violations in the previous 3 years. • An acceptable PSP report; Combination of 4 or more violations, inspections, or warnings MUST be reviewed and approved by safety. • No speeding convictions of 15 mph or more over the posted speed limit in the previous 3 years. • Required to have 10 years of experience filled out; If there is a gap of 6 months or more of employment, then we must have a signed Employment of Declaration document. • Verify 3 years of Class A CDL driving experience. • Three or more jobs in the last 12 months goes to audit • No convictions for using a handheld device while driving subject to state and/or federal law • Must be able to pass a road test administered by Venture Express • Must meet all qualifications in section 391.11 of the FMCSA regulations handbook • Primary residence must be within: (Home Daily/Local) a 50-mile commute from the Domicile assigned on hire date. (OTR/Regional) a 100-mile commute from the Domicile assigned on hire date. Job Description: JOIN OUR LAVERGNE, TN TEAM! Hiring a Commercial Delivery Driver - Class A or B License Required to Operate our 26' Box Truck Seasonal Position - Scheduled to work during season peaks of the school year and off when schools are closed for spring/summer/winter breaks Paid Hourly: $29.00/Hour Scholastic Book Fairs is looking for committed Class B Drivers for deliveries and pickups of books and supplies that help children become lifelong learners. Scholastic Book Fairs Drivers return home same day and will travel in city, suburbs, and rural areas. The pickup and delivery requires the loading and unloading of company trucks at both Branch and Schools, utilizing all safety procedures during this process. Our drivers obtain their daily manifests and inspect their trucks and equipment prior to leaving the Branch. This is a Seasonal position that works through the peaks of the school year, may be off during the summer and fall/winter/spring breaks and then restarts again when the school year starts back. These positions are not full time and do not have benefits. Hours are scheduled on a variety of days Monday through Friday between hours of 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM. All drivers will be given proper equipment including uniforms and shoes and must maintain a professional appearance. Scholastic Book Fairs Drivers adhere to all Company, local, state, and federal rules/regulations inclusive of, but not limited to, DOT, OSHA, etc. Scholastic Book Fairs takes pride in being a drug and alcohol free Company. To support safe driving practices, Scholastic utilizes on-board truck cameras in our commercial vehicles. The camera system provides feedback on vehicle and operating conditions in real time and records data for training purposes. Scholastic drivers are provided with training on this equipment and asked to provide consent to be recorded. Requirements: • All candidates must be the minimum of 21 years of age, possess a valid CDL license with air brake endorsement, and have at least 1 year of commercial driving experience, High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred. • Must pass a drug screen/alcohol screen, Motor Vehicle Record review, criminal background review, and a DOT physical examination indicating physical essential functions of job can be performed as required. • The ability to lift/carry up to 70 lbs. and push, pull metal bookcases (on wheels) weighing more than 350lbs on a regular and repetitive basis.
