Together, we are shaping a sustainable future and making net zero a reality.Role Overview: The Project Operations Associate provides support to the Project Controls team, including Schedulers, Cost Analysts, and the Project Controls Manager. This internship offers hands-on exposure to project scheduling, cost control, data analysis, and reporting within large-scale power generation and EPC projects. The role is ideal for a student pursuing a career in project management, engineering, or business operations who is interested in infrastructure or energy projects. The Project Operations Associate will gain experience with industry tools such as Primavera P6, Excel, and Power BI while supporting day-to-day project controls activities.Key Responsibilities:Support project schedulers with schedule updates, data entry, and formatting in Primavera P6 and ExcelAssist cost analysts with gathering and organizing financial data related to budgets, commitments, and actualsHelp maintain and update project dashboards and reports using Excel and Power BIPrepare charts, graphs, and summaries for project progress and performance reportingParticipate in team meetings, take notes, and follow up on action itemsOrganize project documentation, schedules, and reports in shared drives or document control systemsPerform basic data quality checks and flag discrepancies for reviewSupport the Project Controls Manager with ad hoc tasks, including compiling performance metrics and coordinating with internal stakeholdersAssist with monthly project status updates and presentationsLearn and apply project controls concepts such as Critical Path Method, Earned Value Management, and schedule logic under supervisionShadow team members to gain exposure to project controls tools, workflows, and communication practicesCollaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Construction teams to collect project data as neededRequirements:Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Industrial Engineering, Business, Construction Engineering, or a related field from a four-year, ABET-accredited institutionStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to analyze information, prepare basic reports, and communicate findings effectivelyBasic understanding of mathematical concepts including percentages, ratios, probability, and statisticsStrong problem-solving and reasoning skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPointFamiliarity with project management or data visualization tools (Power BI, SharePoint, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Tableau, Power Apps, or Power Automate) is preferred but not requiredAreas of Interest:Learning about project planning, scheduling techniques, and project controls methodologiesDeveloping skills in Critical Path Method scheduling, Earned Value Management, and progress reportingUnderstanding how schedules, cost forecasts, and performance indicators are developed and monitoredGaining exposure to project execution within the power generation and EPC industryWhy Should You Apply?Hands-on experience supporting large-scale power generation and EPC projectsExposure to project scheduling, cost control, and data reporting tools used across the industryOpportunity to work closely with Project Controls, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Construction teamsProfessional development through real project work and mentorshipCollaborative, values-driven work environmentOpportunity to build a strong foundation for a career in project management or operationsEqual Employment Opportunity: Mitsubishi Power is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer actively seeking to diversify the workforce and is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity.
