Position / Job TitleHealth Aide ParaprofessionalGeneral DescriptionPerforms a wide variety of duties, some of a confidential nature. Performs general nursing duties which may be required but not limited to triaging students, maintaining files, data entry, assisting with screenings, etc. Provides monitoring of students as needed.Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesProvides emergency, diabetic, and first aid care.Performs necessary duties on office machines including copy, fax, and laminatorProvides first aid emergency care.Provides medication administration for students safely following the five rights of medication administration.Enters immunization records.Documents student health office visits for those assessed and cared for by the health aide.Assists in vision and audio screenings, height/weight documentation.Prepares medication and provides to appropriate staff for school field tripsFollows concussion protocol as required.Follows asthma allergy emergency protocol as required.Triages students as needed for the school nurse.Notifies the need for immunizations, physicals, authorizations for medication, action plans for serious health conditions with the nurse's direction.Organizes health cards including students no longer in attendance at the school.Updates health office bulletin boards as needed.Model appropriate behaviors for students.Develop and maintain a professional rapport with teachers and other staff.May assist students at arrival and dismissal of school.May assist in the supervision of students during lunch and recess periods.Responds to walk in, telephone, doorbell, and intercom customer services needs in a timely, positive, and responsive way.Ability to organize and retrieve materials and organize schedules according to guidelines.Works with office staff to distribute student, parent, and staff communications.Uses intra-school communication systems including radio, intercom, various alarms, paging, etc. as required.Uses mail merge function to create labels, certificates, mailings, and files regularly.Follows oral and written directions accurately.Serves as a backup for other office staff as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.Job QualificationsA high school diploma or GED.Ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, balance, stoop, climb steps and reach overhead.Committed to helping all students learn - assist students and reinforce learning concepts for individual or smallgroups.Willingness to participate in professional development and in-service trainings.Regular daily attendance is essential.Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness.Ability to work with diverse populations and handle situations with tact and diplomacy.Expected to interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly and professional manner.Ability to establish good relationships with parents and staff.Ability to organize, file and retrieve records/materials.Ability to work under administrative, secretarial, nurse and staff direction.Must be a proficient reader.Knowledge of Microsoft office software include word, excel, power point, and outlook.Proficient typing skills.Possess the manual dexterity, physical ability, and stamina for a full day of various physical activity.Other InformationReports to: Building PrincipalWork Schedule: 8.0 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 10 Month, Non-ExemptSalary: Wages are administered consistent with negotiated agreement or board adopted salary schedule.Terms of EmploymentThis position is treated as a full-time non-exempt classified position. GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: Provides tutoring assistance primarily in Chemistry courses taught at Ivy Tech Community College. This is a part-time position based at the South Bend campus. Tutoring will be conducted face-to-face or virtually. The position focuses on supporting student learning in Chemistry and maintaining awareness of course changes and needs specific to Chemistry courses. Location: Ivy Tech Community College - South Bend Employment Type: Part Time Compensation: $15.00/ Hr MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: • Meet with students in individual, shared, and group tutoring formats to enhance, support, and clarify concepts discussed in Chemistry course lectures, readings, assignments, handouts, and other instructional materials. • Provide students guidance in the acquisition and application of study skills methods appropriate for Chemistry courses. • Serve as a link to other College resources and refer students to appropriate academic support services as needed. • Complete all paperwork and recordkeeping as requested by the supervisor, including required entries in the designated College system, TracCloud. • Participate in initial and ongoing training programs as required. • Consult with Chemistry faculty to help students meet course learning objectives and stay abreast of changes to course content, curriculum, instructional expectations, and needs specific to Chemistry courses. • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. • Demonstrate strong customer service and student advocacy skills through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, and strong problem solving. • Dress and behave in a professional manner. • Maintain the confidentiality of tutoring sessions. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have relevant academic, tutoring, or teaching experience. This may include current or former college students, recent college graduates, retired teachers, faculty members, or individuals with at least one semester of tutoring experience. Current students must have completed at least one semester at Ivy Tech and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better in the subject area they will tutor. Overview CVP seeks Medical Support Assistants (MSA) to join our team in support of the Eastern Colorado VA Health Care System, Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center located at 1700 North Wheeling Street, Aurora, CO 80045. This is a full-time, remote position supporting the VISN 19 Office of Community Care (OCC). Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM local time, excluding federal holidays. As an Medical Support Assistant, you will coordinate care between VA and community providers, schedule appointments, and ensure Veterans receive timely and appropriate care. Responsibilities • Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, and pre- and post-appointment contacts in accordance with VHA Directive 1230, Outpatient Scheduling Processes and Procedures, and VHA Directive 1232, Consult Management • Coordinate and authorize Veteran care with community providers that the VA does not supply or cannot supply in a timely manner • Process community care consults via HealthShare Referral Manager (HSRM) and Provider Profile Management System (PPMS) and other systems as needed • Validate and update patient demographic information, including phone number, address, next of kin, emergency contact, and insurance capture • Ensure all necessary health and administrative information is processed and integrated into the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) • Screen and receive phone calls in a courteous and timely manner; answer the phone within 5 rings and follow appropriate telephone etiquette • Respond to telephone inquiries regarding the delivery of services • Maintain proficiency and daily use of VA software including CPRS, VistA, CTM, VetLink, HSRM, PPMS, and Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams • Open and close clinics daily and update no-shows within 24 hours of appointment • Monitor incoming and outgoing faxes and mail in accordance with HIPAA standards • Retrieve and respond to voicemail within 48 business hours • Complete an average minimum of 20 cases per day over a weekly period • Communicate with internal medical providers on rules and regulations for VA Community Care and advise on appropriate processes • Serve as a Patient Relations Representative; actively listen to feedback and patient concerns and resolve patient complaints and co-worker concerns in a tactful, professional manner • Work collaboratively with the Lead Scheduler and scheduling team to ensure all schedulers are competent and represent the VA in a positive, proactive manner • Notify supervisor and Lead MSA when automated systems are not performing as needed • Maintain computer and IT security; accept full responsibility for all transactions under personal badge, access, and verify codes • Protect electronic and printed files containing sensitive information from unauthorized release, loss, alteration, or deletion • Ensure all patients are identified with appropriate two patient identifiers per policy • Maintain zero breaches of privacy or confidentiality • Assess compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory program review criteria governing service Qualifications • Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance; US Citizenship required • Must be a resident of the United States and reside within 50 miles of the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center • High School Diploma or GED equivalent • Oral and written proficiency in English • Basic computer skills with daily proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute (must complete typing test) • Basic medical terminology knowledge • Minimum 6 months of customer service experience • No health or physical disability restrictions that would interfere with the performance of assigned duties • Prior VA or federal healthcare administrative experience is preferred Location • Remote.
