Intuit · Wichita, KS
Job description(tap to read)
Overview Intuit is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as dedicated year-round TurboTax Local Service Experts in one of our new TurboTax locations across the United States. This unique opportunity combines tax expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and community engagement to help customers navigate their tax needs. As a TurboTax - Local Service Expert, you will serve as a trusted advisor, empowering customers to achieve positive financial outcomes while supporting Intuit's mission of “Powering Prosperity Around the World.” About the Role: In this role, you will work on-site from a TurboTax location as part of a collaborative team of financial experts, serving in-person and virtual customers who use Intuit TurboTax products. Your primary focus will be full-service tax return preparation, providing expert tax advice, calculations, and software support, but your responsibility extends beyond that. You will be the connective tissue between your customers and a broader team of specialists covering business tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, financial planning, and advisory services. This is not a hand-off model. You will sit in the same customer meetings, absorb the same context, and build a shared understanding of each customer's complete financial picture, then work in lock-step with the right experts to deliver a seamless, end-to-end Intuit experience. Your ability to understand each customer's unique situation and connect with them on a personal level is critical. Taxes can be stressful, and your presence as a trusted, knowledgeable guide makes all the difference whether you're helping with a straightforward W-2 filing, navigating a major life event like marriage, a new child, or elder care, or tackling more complex scenarios involving business income, investments, or amendments. Additionally, you will play a key role in growing TurboTax's client base within the local community, attracting new clients, establishing long-term relationships, and driving customer loyalty. You will leverage TurboTax marketing support and software to empower you in building a thriving business that fosters prosperity for both you and your community. This role is nonexempt and requires onsite presence at a TurboTax location in the United States. What You'll Do: Provide Tax Expertise - Give hands-on tax advice and complete preparation services for TurboTax clients, handling simple to complex tax situations (e.g., personal and business income, deductions optimization, amendments). Facilitate discovery sessions and tax reviews to uncover deductions, minimize tax liabilities, maximize refunds, and provide future tax planning advice. Utilize resources such as government websites, professional tools, and team expertise to deliver accurate tax solutions in personalized everyday language. Be a Proactive Community Ambassador - Embody a “community ambassador” and “business owner” mindset to actively build and grow a new local customer base for TurboTax. As a primary driver of local growth, you will own your market — identifying and pursuing prospects through targeted outreach, grass-roots marketing initiatives, referral networks, and community partnerships. Serve as the local face of TurboTax, converting new prospects into loyal, long-term clients. Organize and lead local events such as financial literacy workshops, community pop-ups, and networking gatherings with the support of TurboTax marketing tools and resources, to create consistent opportunities for customer engagement and brand awareness. Champion the Full Intuit Ecosystem - Act as a trusted guide for every client by developing a deep understanding of their complete financial picture and connecting them with the Intuit solutions best positioned to move them forward. As you build relationships through tax engagements and collaborative client meetings, identify opportunities to introduce clients to complementary services such as bookkeeping, payroll, financial planning, or Credit Karma that meaningfully address their needs. Your role is not simply to deliver a service, but to ensure every client leaves with a clearer path and the full weight of Intuit's resources behind them for year-round support. Build Relationships - Connect with people, demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to their financial concerns and build the long-term trust that turns a one-time transaction into a loyal, multi-year relationship. Deliver a Best in Class Customer Experience - Create an exceptional customer experience, professionalism, and genuine interest in helping clients achieve their financial goals (e.g., saving for retirement, college funds, weddings, or vacations). - Interact with customers both in-person and through Intuit's state-of-the-art video communication tools. Location: Wichita, KS (Full-time in-office) Compensation: $75,000 – $95,000 + Performance Bonuses (DOE) About Us Parrent LLC / Civil Construction is a fast-paced, family-owned commercial contractor transitioning from specialty sub-work to a General Contractor for national retail brands like Walmart. We are at a turning point—we have the projects, we have the team, and we are now seeking an Estimator who wants to take ownership of our bidding department. The Role This isn't a role for someone who just wants to enter data. We are looking for a “Department Builder.” You will be responsible for the accuracy, strategy, and growth of our estimating function. As we take on more General Contracting projects, you will be on the ground floor, helping us standardize how we bid, how we track profit, and how we win. What You Will Own: • Bidding & Takeoffs: Performing accurate quantity takeoffs using PlanSwift (or your preferred software) to deliver competitive, profitable bids. • Systems Implementation: You won't just “do” bids; you'll help us build the bidding department. You'll develop templates, refine our estimating database, and create processes that make us faster and more precise. • Strategy & Analysis: Working closely with our Project Management & Superintendent team (including our Walmart retail experts) to finalize competitive proposals, ensure all scope items are covered, and identify potential profit leaks before the shovel hits the dirt. • Department Scaling: As we grow, this role will evolve into a Senior Estimator position where you will lead and mentor junior estimators. • Networking: Building relationships with vendors, suppliers, and (eventually) your own client base to ensure our pipelines stay full. Who You Are: • Hungry & Tech-Savvy: You have a solid estimating foundation but feel “stuck” in your current role. You want to see the direct impact of your bids on the company's bottom line. • Detail Driven: You understand that one missed line item on a takeoff is a disaster. You take pride in “Plan-Perfect” bids. • A Builder: You are looking for a home, not a stopover. You want a place where your input on how to estimate matters. • Team Player: You enjoy working with field superintendents and project managers to make sure what we bid is actually buildable in the real world. Required Experience & Skills: • 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience. • Proficiency in on-screen takeoff software (PlanSwift experience is a plus, but if you have a workflow you love, we're open to it). • Understanding of commercial/retail construction scope (MEP, Millwork, Carpentry, Concrete, and general retail remodels). • Strong communication skills—you'll be working directly with owners, vendors, and GCs. Compensation & Benefits: • Base Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 DOE. • Performance Bonuses: Tied to win-rate, bid accuracy, and profitability of projects you bid. • Full Benefits: Health, Dental, & Vision. • 2 Weeks PTO + Paid Holidays. Why Apply? If you are looking to grow and want to be a partner in building a high-growth GC business, we want to talk to you. You'll have the autonomy to build this department the right way, with the mentorship of construction veterans who have spent 20+ years on the national retail circuit. How to Apply: Please submit your resume and a brief note on the most complex or successful project you have bid in the last three years. Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 5 - 10 years Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: Yes
