Job Description - Para Special Education Low Incidence (2026-2027 School Year) (14461)Para Special Education Low Incidence (2026-2027 School Year) - ( 14461 )Job Title:Para Sped Low IncidencePosition Function:Under the supervision of an administrator and direction of a certificated/licensed staff, assist the teacher in the education of students including instructional assistance, organization, record keeping, and management of student behavior, classroom safety, and communication with students, support staff and parents.Essential Performance Responsibilities:Supervises students in class setting as directed by the teacher or other staffAssists in managing classroom routines and proceduresAssists in the interventions to redirect behavior, assesses crisis situations and intervenes to defuse situations, documents any occurrences, provides feedback to develop positive self-esteem of studentAssists the teacher by supervising school activities on or off campus during the course of the instructional dayAssists in the implementing of student behavior planAssists students to and from assigned areas within the building to facilitate integration effortsAssists the teacher in the physical setup of the classroom for group instruction, projects, and activitiesAssists in the integration of technology into the classroomUses a slate and/or stylus or have a willingness to learn these skillsAssists students in using low vision equipmentAssists students with adaptive magnifying equipmentParticipates in effective teaming skills, collaboration, conflict resolution and communicationProvides individual and/or group instruction which may include regular education students in academic areas after initial instruction by teacherIs assigned to a regular classroom program where special education students are assignedProvides feedback to students and teachersAssists students through the use of questioning and discussion techniquesAssists with student engagement with the curriculumAssists students with the integration into regular education classroomEvaluates student progress on work assignments and shares information with teacherAssists the teacher with the designing and/or planning of instruction and follow throughAssists with scoring tests, keeping records and making reports as required by the teacherDemonstrates knowledge of district resourcesPrepares instructional materials and/or learning centersAssists in the planning for the Individual Education Plan (IEP)Maintains high level of confidentiality of information regarding students and staff information and issuesDevelops and maintains a professional rapport with classroom teacher and other staffDemonstrates sensitivity to the needs of students, staff, and parentsCommunicates with students, parents, instructional and support staff by letter, phone, e-mail, fax or personal contact as directed by the administrator or classroom teacherObserves and charts student behavior and assist in discipline of student as instructed by the teacher.Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and organizeAttend sand participates in staff meetings, PLCs and parent conferences as requiredAcquires a minimum of 20 hours of in-service annually. After 3 years a minimum of 10 in-service hours is required. (Paras are encouraged to take advantage of in-services provided by the building or district.)Assists students to and from buses and assisting the drivers until departure timeAssists in the transportation of studentsAssists in caring for student's medical needs when under the direct supervision of the school nurse or other appropriate professionalAssists students with basic needs including but not limited to self-care, hygiene, feeding, (may include tube feeding), toileting, diapering, dressing and physical transfersPossesses the manual dexterity, physical ability and stamina for a full day of physical activityAssists and supervise students to and from assigned areasDemonstrates the ability to interline all Braille material for tests and daily lessonsAdditional Duties:Assists with additional duties as assigned by supervisorEquipment:This position may require the ability to use SMART boards and iPads in addition to basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Experience the entire product lifecycle, from concept and requirements, through design, implementation, testing and certification, and field application. You can expect a variety of opportunities ranging from precision cell voltage, current, and temperature sensing, protection and isolation circuits, cell balancing, lithium battery management, and integration with aircraft power systems. THIS POSITION MAY BE FOR YOU IF… • You have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience designing lithium battery management systems (BMS). • You have general analog design experience and have created schematics and PCBs containing analog and mixed-signal circuits. • You have experience designing cell sensing, protection, balancing, and isolation circuits for lithium battery packs. • You are proficient with Microsoft Office. • You have strong attention to detail. • You are organized, focused and results oriented. • You are a problem-solver with critical thinking and prioritizing skills. • You have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
