Sam's Club is seeking Merchandise and Stocking Associates to assist with stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and supporting daily warehouse club operations. Associates are responsible for unloading deliveries, moving merchandise onto the sales floor, stocking shelves and bulk displays, rotating inventory, organizing backroom inventory, and ensuring products are properly labeled and displayed. Associates may also assist members with locating merchandise and help maintain store cleanliness and organization. Quality Assurance TechnicianThis role focuses on ensuring the consistent quality and safety of ingredients, products, and packaging by performing tests, monitoring production processes, and maintaining accurate records. The Quality Assurance Technician works in a lab and production environment, supporting food safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.ResponsibilitiesCollect and organize samples of ingredients, in-process materials, final products, shelf-life studies, and customer projects, and test them according to established procedures.Monitor production processes to ensure they operate consistently and within defined quality and safety standards.Label, store, and maintain samples of ingredients and products for retains and shelf-life monitoring.Document all collected data neatly and precisely using charts, graphs, tables, and other formats for management review.Maintain laboratories, work areas, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and well-organized condition.Communicate any inconsistent results, unusual observations, or deviations from specifications to management immediately.Monitor the plant for compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and report any issues promptly.Inspect and swab equipment and the production environment, and communicate any problems to appropriate technical services or operations personnel.Test research and development samples for food safety and specification compliance.Perform line checks and other in-process quality checks to verify conformance to quality standards.Recommend methods for improving processes to reduce waste, increase productivity, and enhance product quality and consistency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and technical services, to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.Essential SkillsExperience in quality assurance, quality testing, or food quality in a lab or production environment.Knowledge of food science, microbiology, biology, or related life sciences disciplines.Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety principles.Ability to perform line checks, equipment inspections, and environmental swabbing.Proficiency in documenting data accurately using charts, graphs, tables, and other formats.Strong written and oral communication skills to clearly report findings and issues.Computer proficiency for data entry, documentation, and basic analysis.Ability to efficiently organize work tasks, samples, and time in a fast-paced environment.Attention to detail and accuracy when testing, recording results, and labeling samples.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in life sciences such as Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field preferred.If no degree, at least 6 months of experience in food or quality-related roles.Experience working in a lab environment, particularly within the food industry.Familiarity with testing methods for food safety and specification compliance.Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and make practical recommendations.Comfort working in a production-tied schedule that may fluctuate based on business needs.Work EnvironmentThis is a lab and production-support role with a schedule primarily from Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The position is tied to production, with a typical schedule of around 40 hours per week; during slower periods, hours may decrease to approximately 30 per week. There may be opportunities for overtime, including occasional Saturday work, so candidates should be comfortable with a variable schedule when production needs increase, especially during the fall and winter seasons. The work environment includes both laboratory and plant settings, involving testing, line checks, equipment inspections, and environmental swabbing. Dress code is casual but clean and professional: long pants such as jeans are acceptable as long as they have no holes or fraying, along with a sleeved shirt and closed-toe shoes.
