Felony Criminal Prosecutor Make your community safer. Prosecute cases. Hold people accountable. Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney in Chehalis, WA is seeking a Felony Criminal Prosecutor. This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $108,802.32 - $146,316.24 annually. The essential functions of this position include: • Representing the Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney in prosecuting persons charged with felony criminal offenses. • Reviewing citations, arrest sheets and other law enforcement documents; gathering facts and data; conducting factual and legal analysis to determine whether charges should be filed. • Managing and prioritizing assigned caseload, and prosecuting felony crimes from initial charging to sentencing. • Coordinating with law enforcement agencies and other involved parties to establish and verify basis for prosecution or dismissal. • Representing the Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney at arraignments, hearings, trials and other legal proceedings. • Drafting complaints, briefs, motions and other legal documents. • Guiding and assisting attorneys and legal staff; providing training, counseling and professional assistance on strategy, trial skills and professional responsibilities. • Coordinating with other prosecuting attorneys in managing complex cases and legal documents. The working environment involves light physical demands and frequent use of a personal computer. Required qualifications include: • Admitted to the Washington State Bar Association and in good standing. • Four (4) year's trial court experience, preferably as a Deputy Criminal Prosecutor. • Licensed by the Bar to practice law in the State of Washington. • A valid Driver's License is preferred. Competencies include knowledge of Washington State criminal statutes, legal case management procedures, legal research methods, and skills in prosecuting cases, mediating and negotiating situations, and using effective interrogative procedures.
