We are currently looking for a Senior Paralegal, Litigation to join our team in Franklin, TN. This position provides support primarily for the Product Safety and Liability practice areas. Conducts broad-based factual and legal research of risks and claims and prepares comprehensive analyses and reports. Participates in managing legal holds, research, investigations, subpoena and discovery responses, and trial preparation. Supports review and response to product investigations. A Day in the Life: • Provides paralegal support to litigation and other matters, including managing tracking and budgeting; coordinating discovery, witnesses, and assisting outside counsel; calendaring critical court dates • Opens, maintains, and closes case files using Nissan's case management systems (T360) • Communicates with management, internal clients, and outside third parties, including preparation of correspondence, memorandum, presentations, etc. • Operates under direct supervision of a team of senior counsel • Receives third-party subpoenas and coordinates with counsel to respond • Issues litigation holds; manages, reviews, and monitors litigation docket • Assists in preparing discovery responses, affidavits, and related documents • Supports compliance with annual records retention policies • Acts as conduit between legal counsel and business clients for securing requested documents and information • Monitors and summarizes legislative changes to laws affecting motor vehicles and equipment; prepares 50-state surveys as needed • Supports efforts to increase efficiency and drive down litigation management costs • Identifies process gaps and recommends improvements • Builds and refines workflows, templates, and playbooks • Identifies legal risks and elevates strategic issues • Exercises independent professional judgment and earns trust to manage matters without close supervision Who We're Looking For: • Knowledge and understanding of the civil litigation process • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and employees • Strong management and interpersonal skills • Proven ability to organize and handle high volume of cases and related pleadings, motions and discovery • Ability to function independently within job requirements • Ability to analyze, interpret and summarize information into recommendations for attorney supervisors and management • Five or more years of professional paralegal experience from law firm or in-house legal department (product liability litigation preferred) • Associate's degree in paralegal studies from an ABA-approved Paralegal Education Program, or • Bachelor's Degree (any discipline) and either (a) professional Certification from an ABA-approved Paralegal Education Program or (b) 2+ years of experience within a law firm or corporate legal department (or equivalent) Desired: • Notary Public Commission capabilities What You'll Look Forward to at Nissan: Career Growth and Continuous Learning Opportunities: Benefit from diverse career paths, cross-departmental moves, and innovative learning platforms. Position Summary The Revenue Specialist, Medicaid ensures proper submission and adjudication of all claims submitted to Medicaid carriers while working within the deadlines and protocols of the assignments. This position is responsible for handling patient health information (PHI) and maintaining extreme privacy and security as it relates to confidential and proprietary information. Key Responsibilities • Verify patient eligibility when needed. • Analyze and evaluate Medicaid claim payments using the company's systems and tools. Use payment documentation provided by payers to determine if the medical provider has been reimbursed in compliance with the applicable state fee schedule. • Research, request and acquire all pertinent medical records and any other supporting documentation necessary and then submit with hospital claims to ensure prompt correct claims reimbursement. • Review technical billing (UB 04) components provided by Client Hospital for accuracy. Make necessary changes as required in accordance with billing laws. • Conduct timely and thorough telephone follow-up with payers to ensure claims with supporting documentation have been received and facilitate prompt reimbursement. • Prepare correct Medicaid initial bill packet using EnableComp systems' tools and submit with all necessary supporting documentation to insurance companies • Analyze all assigned account delinquencies and account activity to ensure timely and accurate payments from appropriate payers. • Work with insurers and outside entities through various avenues to verify/request authorizations and assist in concurrent review activities to obtain authorization as needed. • File and handle confidential documentation and patient health information (PHI); adhere and follow all HIPAA mandated guidelines. • Manage both inbound and outbound calls efficiently and effectively. • Assist in efficiently moving work through the department, working as part of a team. • Appeal claim denials and/or underpayments as necessary. • Other duties as required Requirements and Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED required. Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred. • 1-2+ years' experience in healthcare field working in billing or collections. • 1+ years' client facing/customer services experience. • 1+ years' experience with UB-04 billing and collections required.
