Working with field crews to conduct archaeological fieldwork. - Demonstrating skills and experience with field tasks such as precontact and historic artifact identification, as well as soil analysis and interpretation. - Working under the supervision of a field director or crew lead in Kansas/ Missouri and neighboring states. - Occasional laboratory duties may be available on a project specific basis. - Traveling extensively to project sites. - Prioritizing safety in field and laboratory practices. - Operating and maintaining field equipment including GPS units, digital cameras, tablets, and hand tools. - Following established safety protocols for hazardous conditions including extreme weather, wildlife encounters, and excavation safety. - Participating in daily tailgate safety meetings and following site-specific safety plans. - Exercising stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are identified.
