Key Responsibilities • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and tailor individualized treatment approaches. • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery, resilience-building, and enhancing overall mental health. • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methods such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) during individual and group therapy sessions. • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for clients to process their trauma, develop coping strategies, and promote emotional healing. • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated, holistic care for each patient. • Provide crisis intervention during traumatic emergencies, ensuring clients receive immediate support and resources. • Educate clients and families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available community resources to enhance support systems. • Maintain accurate records of treatment and patient interactions in compliance with legal and ethical standards. • Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities aimed at improving trauma-informed care practices. • Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to continuously enhance your therapeutic skills. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will be on clients affected by trauma, including those suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, and various dissociative disorders. You will work closely with individuals from diverse backgrounds, ensuring your approach is culturally competent and responsive to each client's unique needs and experiences. Qualifications • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Kansas. • Strong knowledge and understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor. • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and familiarity with computer applications related to teletherapy. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team setting. Key Responsibilities As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day activities will include, but are not limited to: • Supporting treating therapists by scoring, interpreting, and reporting on psychometric assessments, ensuring accurate and relevant clinical insights. • Conducting regular supervision sessions in collaboration with the site supervisor to enhance clinical skills and service delivery. • Joining staff meetings and clinical discussions to contribute to a cohesive team approach to client care. • Identifying and leveraging agency resources, services, and systems to optimize client support. • Completing comprehensive orientation processes, including familiarization with policies and meeting fellow staff members. • Preparing for client sessions by reviewing case notes and conducting targeted research on presenting issues to inform treatment plans. • Participating in small group supervision and seminars that involve reviewing audiovisual materials and collaborative learning. • Maintaining detailed and accurate client records, both written and electronic, to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulatory requirements. • Coordinating with partner agencies to facilitate comprehensive support services for clients. • Researching best practices to enhance the quality of care delivered in various assignments and projects. • Conducting client consultations and collaborating effectively with other professionals within the agency. • Writing thorough case notes, assessments, and evaluations to document client progress and inform treatment strategies. • Contributing to the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans (ITP) tailored to each client's unique needs. Patient Population / Client Focus Your role will involve working with a diverse client population within our community health clinic. You will address a wide array of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. Understanding the complexities of each client's situation and fostering a therapeutic alliance will be key to your success in this role. Qualifications • Must be authorized to work in the United States. • Possess strong clinical skills and the ability to cultivate rapport and trust with clients through empathy and active listening. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating with colleagues and engaging clients. • A Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related discipline is required. • A valid Social Work License (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW) is mandatory as per state regulations. • No history of medical malpractice claims, verified through a third-party check.
