Distribution Handler The Distribution Handler position verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following essential functions and responsibilities to quality and productivity standards. Team members in this position also share responsibility for warehouse organization, warehouse cleanliness, inventory management and continuous process improvement. Requirements • At least 18 years of age. • Grade 12 or equivalent and one year of factory or warehouse related experience in shipping and receiving. • Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math. • A valid driver's license. • Ability to obtain a license to operate a forklift or lift truck. Prior experience with forklifts is preferred. • Proficient with modern business systems including MS Office, Email, and general ERP systems. Compensation and Benefits: • Pay is $16.00/hour • Shift: Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm • Paid Time Off • 401(k) with Company Match • Health, Dental, and Vision • Company Paid Short Term Disability Insurance • Company Paid Life and AD&D • Parental Leave • EAP Essential Functions and Responsibilities: • Fulfill customer orders and intercompany transfers following Shipping procedure. • Palletize and package orders for shipment using proper packaging equipment including banding and wrapping. • Maintain warehouse facility and equipment including general maintenance and proactively identifying service needs and maintenance requirements. • Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas. • Unloads, receives, and documents inbound shipments following Receiving procedure. • Sort and label as necessary for company inventory. • Maintain warehouse organization practicing FIFO for all inventory material. • Participates in physical inventory counts as directed and reports all discrepancies to Facility Manager. • From time-to-time, may be required to work overtime including weekends and holidays as necessary to accommodate our customers' and business needs with proper notification. • Organize and consolidate items by moving products forward on pallets and shelves, and make sure labels are facing forward. • Identify and quarantine items that are no longer used or have expired. • Responsible for counting inventory, recording inventory locations, and maintaining inventory records in the company ERP system. • Perform daily cycle counts as assigned by supervisor. • Perform other duties assigned by Management. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to extreme. This position requires standing for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or tools; reach with hands and arms; balance; or stoop. Employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds several times daily. May be exposed to weather temperature conditions prevalent at the time. Occupational Health and Safety: Employees are responsible and accountable for: • Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control. • Active participation in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety. • Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplace.
