Sun Scientific, Inc. | Southeast Region |Field-Based | Full-Time Sun Scientific is a founder-led medical device company in hypergrowth, focused on chronic venous and lymphatic disease, compression therapy, and DME. POSITION SUMMARY Sun Scientific is seeking an entrepreneurial District Sales Manager (DBM) to own the commercial development, operational performance, and accelerated growth of an assigned district in a hypergrowth organization. This is a true player-coach role: in many developing districts, the DBM will personally function as both a salesperson and district leader, originating accounts and generating orders while building, training, and managing a team of approximately 2–12 salespeople and clinical care coordinators. The DSM owns district business health: active prescribers, productive accounts, recurring order volume, employee development, customer experience, and operational execution. As the district scales, the DBM progressively increases leadership capacity while remaining directly engaged in strategic accounts and major growth opportunities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES District Business Ownership & Growth • Own district business performance and execute a district plan aligned with company objectives. • Grow active prescribers, productive accounts, account penetration, and sustained order volume. • Identify geographic opportunities, underperforming accounts, and strategic partnerships; deploy resources accordingly. • Personally sell, open accounts, develop prescriber relationships, and generate orders, particularly while the district is growing; remain involved in strategic opportunities as the team expands. District & Team Leadership • Recruit, onboard, coach, develop, and manage team. • Establish individual goals, accountability, field priorities, and a consistent performance review cadence. • Serve as the primary hands-on field trainer: conduct ride-alongs, joint sales and service visits, clinical in-services, product demonstrations, and coaching in real customer settings. • Lead practical onboarding and field-readiness training; identify skill gaps and deliver ongoing instruction in clinical knowledge, prescriber engagement, account origination, territory management, and order development. • Develop salespeople in prospecting, prescriber development, account origination, and account growth. • Develop clinical care coordinators in clinical engagement, patient education, account support, order facilitation, and customer experience. • Build a collaborative, high-accountability team with capacity to scale as the district grows. • Open and develop relationships with targeted prescribers and accounts, including vein and vascular practices, lymphedema clinics, podiatry practices, and other appropriate healthcare providers. • Move accounts from first order to consistent, recurring volume through clinical education and coordinated follow-through. • Deepen penetration within existing accounts by activating additional prescribers and expanding appropriate product utilization. • Monitor retention, service concerns, competitive threats, and account productivity. Operational Excellence & Customer Experience • Partner with order intake, reimbursement, customer service, and fulfillment teams to support a frictionless prescriber and patient experience. • Ensure field compliance with documentation, ordering, patient privacy, and company procedures. • Track incomplete orders, processing barriers, and service issues; escalate and help resolve systemic problems. • Promote strong coordination between salespeople and clinical care coordinators to protect and grow accounts. Business Analytics & Cross-Functional Execution • Maintain accurate district forecasts, account development plans, and performance dashboards. • Use prescriber, account, order, and employee productivity trends to prioritize activity and coach the team. • Report business performance, risks, and opportunities to leadership with actionable recommendations. • Partner with Marketing, Operations, and other functions on new products, strategic initiatives, and scalable processes. Clinical & Reimbursement Credibility • Maintain strong understanding of venous and lymphatic disease, compression therapy, product applications, and patient needs. • Demonstrate working knowledge of DMEPOS, HCPCS coding, payer requirements, documentation, and order-to-fulfillment workflows. • Serve as a senior commercial and clinical resource while referring specialized clinical or reimbursement questions to appropriate experts. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS & INCENTIVES Performance is measured by sustainable district growth and overall business health, including district order growth, active prescriber development, productive account expansion, team performance and field training, operational execution, and customer experience.
