Medica's Customer Service Representatives are the primary contact for members to resolve service inquires for claims, enrollment, billing, pharmacy, as well as interpreting contracts, and explaining benefits. They work telephonically and are responsible for exceptional levels of service satisfaction, providing quality service, and the service recovery process. The service recovery process is critical, and our Customer Service Representatives will utilize this process to assist members in complex situations. Our customer service department offers a fast-paced and rewarding environment where you will receive 4-6 weeks of paid training, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive environment that fosters continual growth! Successful Customer Service Representatives build an amazing base of health plan and health claims knowledge that they leverage to be considered for career advancement opportunities throughout the Call Center and other areas of Medica's business. This class has multiple openings and will start on Monday, August 31st, 2026. Training hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm CST; after training shifts do change. Our department is open Monday-Friday 8:00am CST- 9:00pm CST, and Saturdays from 9:00am CST - 3:00pm CST. Key Accountabilities • Customer Service experience in a Healthcare related setting preferred • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Able to deliver high quality service to Medica's members • Ability to interact with the team and support each other in dealing with customer issues • Advanced ability to multi task and manage time efficiently is needed • An ability to identify process improvements, provide mentor and peer feedback, and develop knowledge of multiple products and platforms • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and respond well to a rapidly changing industry and operational environment Required Qualifications • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement • 2+ years of customer service experience Schedules after training vary based on business need and may include: • 8:00am-5:00pm • 9:00am-5:30pm • 9:30am-6:00pm • 10:00am-6:30pm CST (shift differential incentives are offered for this later shift) • 10:30am-7:00pm CST (shift differential incentives are offered for this later shift) • 11:30am-8:00pm CST (shift differential incentives are offered for this later shift) • 12:00pm- 8:30pm CST (shift differential incentives are offered for this later shift) • 12:30pm-9:00pm CST (shift differential incentives are offered for this later shift) • *Schedules may include Saturday shifts from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm based on business needs.* This position is a Remote role. To be eligible for consideration, candidates must have a primary home address located within any state where Medica is registered as an employer - AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, IL, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, OK, SD, TN, TX, VA, WI. The full salary grade for this position is $34,100 - $53,200. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $33,300 - $41,370. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary. Victim Advocate Responsible for maintaining a caseload of victims of alcohol and drugged driving who are in need of short-term crisis intervention, emotional support, grief support groups, and appropriate referral sources for continued long-term needs. Provide court accompaniment and guidance with legal, financial, and medical systems. Work in conjunction with other Victim Services employees to provide consultation and support to victims where needed. This is a part-time 25 hrs/week, $25/hour, remote position, in which the selected candidate must reside in the general St. Louis, MO area. Essential Functions • Utilizing independent judgment, conduct individual needs assessments on victims/survivors of alcohol and drugged driving crashes for emotional support, information, and referrals, implementing beneficial interventions based upon those assessments. Maintain current assessment of victim's coping and need for further referrals. • Based upon assessment, create and implement a tailored case management action plan for victims, which may include grief support assistance, crisis intervention, referrals for long-term counseling issues and other basic needs, as well as support group facilitation. May accompany victims/survivors to justice proceedings as appropriate. Provide advocacy by assisting in the protection and exertion of victims/survivors rights and educating others about the criminal and civil justice systems. • Conduct community needs assessments and analyze results to determine the development, facilitation, and implementation of appropriate victim services, programs and events. • Based upon results of community needs assessments, create and implement effective outreach strategies to reach victims and survivors of drunk and drugged driving crashes who may not otherwise be aware of MADD Victim Services. • Utilizing analysis of community needs assessment, establish and utilize a network of key individuals in the legal, medical, and social service systems to facilitate assistance for victims/survivors. Collect and maintain community resource information to share with victims and other Victim Services employees. • Recruit, screen, train, deploy, and recognize volunteers who provide assistance in meeting Victim Service initiatives. • Maintain accurate case records, statistical information and grant reports for each victim case according to MADD and grant standards and guidelines. May be responsible for grant writing and reporting to grantor and MADD. • Other duties as assigned Position Requirements • Bachelor's degree is required in a human services field of study (i.e. social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice) with a minimum of one year of experience in victim advocacy (specifically case management) OR grief support work (specifically bereaved individuals due to death) • Equivalent experience that includes experience in victim advocacy (specifically case management) and/or grief support work (specifically bereaved individuals due to death). • Reliable transportation to court attendance is required along with a flexible schedule. • Strong organizational skills, be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and execute in a high-volume environment. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and convey thoughts clearly, logically and concisely both orally and in writing, using appropriate grammar and command of the English language. • Ability to work both independently and with others to resolve issues and maintain composure and professionalism in an environment of changing and/or multiple priorities. • Must be able to work on a time table, meet deadlines, follow instructions and accept direction on given assignments. • Strong work ethic with the ability to maintain a high activity level. • Must have exceptional internal and external customer service orientation. • Must have demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and be familiar with entering data into on-line systems.
