Job description(tap to read)
A profitable, private equity-backed dental services company is hiring a hands-on Director of Sales to help expand a national membership platform that enables independent dentists to build more profitable practices without giving up ownership. With nearly $30 million in annual revenue, more than 1,300 member practices (up from approximately 600 a couple years ago), and an expanding portfolio of business coaching, purchasing, and insurance reimbursement solutions, the company is entering an exciting phase of growth. This is a true player-coach role—approximately 70% leading and developing the sales team and 30% personally selling. You'll report directly to the CEO and have the opportunity to shape how the organization sells, develops talent, and scales across multiple service lines. Why This Role Stands Out • Meaningful, impactful solution: Help independent dentists build more profitable, successful practices while preserving their independence in an increasingly consolidated industry. • Significant opportunity to build: Shape the sales playbook, develop talent, and help scale a growing sales organization with considerable autonomy and direct influence on results. • Proven growth and financial strength: More than 1,300 member practices, nearly $30 million in annual revenue, strong profitability, and conservative leverage. • Established lead generation: Leverage a dedicated marketing team, referral channels, and approximately 50 dentist ambassadors who generate sales opportunities. • Multiple avenues for growth: Strategic acquisitions and new service offerings create additional revenue streams and cross-selling opportunities across an established membership base. • Experienced, supportive leadership: Work directly with the CEO and a strong executive team in an entrepreneurial, well-capitalized business backed by Incline Equity. • Remote flexibility, equity, and career upside: Fully remote position with flexible, business-driven travel, an equity opportunity, and the potential to grow into broader executive leadership as the organization expands. Compensation & Benefits • Compensation: $150k-$170k base, $230k-$265k OTE • Generous comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, HSA, life and disability insurance. • 401(k): 3% safe-harbor employer contribution. • Unlimited PTO. • Equity: Restricted stock unit opportunity. What You'll Be Doing • Lead and coach the sales team (70%): Develop sellers through hands-on coaching, call reviews, pipeline management, and accountability while personally demonstrating effective selling techniques. • Sell and close business (30%): Personally drive new memberships and revenue opportunities, including developing effective approaches for selling newly acquired services. • Build a scalable sales organization: Evaluate, hire, and develop sales talent as the team expands toward approximately 6–10 sellers across multiple service lines. • Improve sales execution: Refine messaging, collateral, and sales processes while establishing strong HubSpot discipline, pipeline visibility, and consistent follow-up. The Right Candidate • Consultative sales leadership background: Demonstrated success selling intangible, ROI-driven business services to dental or physician practices, or to small-business owners. Dental industry experience is preferred but not required. • Proven player-coach: Strong individual sales performance combined with experience coaching and managing salespeople. Ambitious, rising sales leaders are encouraged to apply. • Entrepreneurial mindset: Hungry, adaptable, and execution-oriented. Comfortable rolling up your sleeves, personally selling, and navigating an evolving business environment. • Strong sales management fundamentals: Proven ability to hire and develop talent, drive accountability, manage pipelines, and improve sales processes. HubSpot experience is a plus. Location & Travel Fully remote within the United States, with a preference for candidates located east of the Rocky Mountains. Occasional travel for industry events, team meetings, and customer opportunities, potentially up to one or two trips per month.
