Position Overview The Barista is the heart of our coffee shop-preparing espresso-based beverages, specialty drinks, and grab-and-go items while engaging customers and ensuring a warm, welcoming environment. You'll help create a unique coffee experience for patients, visitors, and team members across Orlando Health. Shift Requirement Must be able to work until 10:00 PM and rotating weekends. Flexibility is essential, as business needs may require varied scheduling. What You Will Do • Greet customers warmly and maintain a clean, sanitary barista station • Prepare high-quality espresso beverages, coffee drinks, and food items • Maintain efficient customer flow and deliver excellent customer service • Identify ingredients needed for each drink and ensure proper preparation • Contribute to a positive team environment and remain composed during busy periods • Clean, maintain, and service all coffee equipment; report repair needs to leadership • Operate registers or computerized order entry systems efficiently • Collect and safeguard charge slips, vouchers, and rewards transactions • Model essential service behaviors through open, gracious, and compassionate communication • Maintain punctual attendance in alignment with Orlando Health policies and federal standards • Follow dress and grooming standards to ensure a professional appearance • Execute store operations, including opening and closing duties and cleaning checklists • Follow portion controls, cash procedures, and food service standards • Adhere to universal precautions and foodborne illness prevention requirements • Interact appropriately with a culturally diverse population • Follow chain of command for departmental concerns • Support Customer Experience goals by suggesting creative ideas and reporting concerns • Embrace flexibility, rotating shifts, and cross-training across various food service roles • Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications • Ability to read and recognize similarities/differences between words and numbers • Ability to write simple correspondence • Ability to respond professionally to customer inquiries or complaints • Effective oral communication skills and ability to build relationships • 180 days of previous cash handling experience required • No licensure or certification required Why Join Orlando Health?
