Responsibilities and Duties Typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Helper/Packager include: • Safely drive forklift and operate crane to pull and move coils and skids within warehouse. • Operate packing line conveyor to transfer coils from slitter to the banding station. • Band and package material for shipping according to customer requirements. • Assemble skids and other shipping containers as needed. • Measure dimensions and gauge material with micrometer. • Confirm material specifications on inventory tags for orders being shipped. • Stage material for shipping according to bill of ladings. • Generate inventory tags to be placed on material being received. • Enter inventory tag data into computer system. • Obtain appropriate signatures on bills of lading. • Use precision when operating tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers and calipers. • Maintain shipping supplies. • Keep immediate work area clean and organized throughout the day. • Adhere to all company safety rules, regulations, and quality standards. • Adhere to all company handbook policies and procedures.
