About the Role: Garnett Retail Store Location As a Retail Associate, your main responsibility will be to assist in the day-to-day operations of our retail store, which sells donated goods to support our organization's mission. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers and in maximizing the revenue generated from the sale of donated items. Your end goal is to contribute to the success of our organization by efficiently managing the flow of donated goods, maintaining a clean and organized store, and providing excellent customer service. Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Previous experience in a retail or customer service role. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. • Basic math skills for cash handling and pricing. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working in a thrift store or similar retail environment. • Knowledge of fashion trends and brands. • Familiarity with operating a cash register and handling cash transactions. • Ability to lift and carry heavy items. • Experience working with diverse customer populations. Responsibilities: • Receive and sort donated goods, ensuring they are in good condition and suitable for sale. • Price and tag items according to established guidelines, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing. • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including restocking shelves and arranging displays. • Assist customers in finding and selecting items, providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service. • Operate the cash register, handling transactions accurately and efficiently. Skills: In this role, you will utilize your strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service and assist customers in finding the right items. Attention to detail and organization skills are essential for receiving, sorting, and pricing donated goods. Basic math skills will be used for cash handling and pricing items accurately. Additionally, your ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks will be crucial in maintaining a clean and organized store. Preferred qualifications such as knowledge of fashion trends and brands, experience with cash handling, and the ability to lift heavy items will further enhance your effectiveness in this role.
