About the Role:The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of a food service establishment, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and ready for use. This position supports the kitchen and dining staff by efficiently managing the flow of clean items, which directly impacts the overall customer experience and operational efficiency. This role requires physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks, lift heavy items, and stand for extended periods while maintaining attention to detail. Ultimately, the Dishwasher contributes to a smooth-running kitchen by providing reliable and consistent support in a fast-paced environment.Minimum Qualifications:* Basic reading skills to understand instructions and safety guidelines.* Ability to lift and carry heavy items safely, typically up to 50 pounds.* Capability to stand for extended periods during shifts.* Demonstrated reliability with regular and punctual attendance.* Willingness to follow detailed instructions and work as part of a team.Preferred Qualifications:* Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment.* Knowledge of proper sanitization techniques and food safety standards.* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.* Ability to perform repetitive motions efficiently without loss of quality.* Basic understanding of kitchen operations and workflow.Responsibilities:* Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment and manual cleaning methods.* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, including floors, sinks, and work surfaces, to comply with health and safety regulations.* Assist kitchen staff by promptly supplying clean dishes and utensils to support food preparation and service.* Follow all sanitation and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a hygienic environment.* Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to management to ensure continuous operation.Skills:The required skills such as basic reading and following instructions ensure that the Dishwasher can comprehend and implement safety and sanitation protocols effectively. Physical abilities like lifting heavy weights and standing for long periods are essential for managing the physical demands of the role, including handling large quantities of dishes and maintaining productivity throughout the shift.
