This position supports that objective by providing warehousing and delivery services for all WSP CI Operations including Commissary, Food Package Program, Laundry Operations and License Plate Factory. Duties: Perform daily tasks associated with Warehouse Operations to include receiving, shipping, storage of raw materials, and finished goods at the WSP CI warehouses and Commissary: • Supervises and performs warehousing dutiesin the Washington State Penitentiary (WSP) CI Warehouse & Commissary under the direction of the CI Business Manager (IS2). • Receiving and unpacking of incoming items, checking their condition, type and quantity against the packing slip and providing the receiving report to the WSP CI Business Office for proper documentation to support vendor payment. • Manage CI warehouse section holding CI assets, supplies and equipment. • May conduct physical inventory. • May deliver or pick up goods inside or outside the facility, to various CI shops, or other areas within the institution. • Supervises or prepares shipments for deliveries. • Loads vehicles and trailers, inspects for condition, accuracy and type, against order/shipping documents to support vendor payments. • Effectively manage inventories (including monthly and weekly spot checks), stock rotation and inventory levels. Ensure stock is organized in a manner that facilitates picking orders and conducting monthly inventory. • Maintains maintenance records of equipment assigned to warehouse. • Maintains an organized and efficient work environment free of hazards. • Maintain good safety practices to support Safety Program. • Provide excellent customer service, being responsive, accurate, timely and respectful to customers at all times. • Gives feedback and assist the IS2 and GM in asset needs, planning and purchases. • Develop and/or assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Evaluate, supervise and direct the daily workflow of Warehouse Operator 2 employees as assigned: • Supervise and evaluate Warehouse Operator 2 (W02) staff by monitoring their work performance and ensure tasks are accomplished in a safe manner. • Coach and mentor W02s and provide growth opportunities when available. • Provide timely and honest performance feedback, both formally and informally. • Meet with direct reports on a monthly basis for a documented one-on-one meeting. • Ensure all direct reports complete annual in-service and LMS training. • Help employees to succeed by modeling accountability; be fair, reasonable and consistent. • In consultation with the General Manager, assign and train staff in a manner that best supports the work to be done. • Participates in the recruitment, interview and hiring process for new WO2s. Provide supervision and training of Incarcerated Workers in basic skills and functions associated with warehousing, shipping, receiving and inventory management: • Provide supervision and assist WO2's in the training of incarcerated workers in basic skills and functions associated with warehousing, shipping, receiving and inventory management (D365). • Supervise and assist WO2's in the training of incarcerated workers in tool safety, warehouse operation and maintenance of equipment in accordance with user manuals, L&I safety standards, DOC Policies, facility Operational Memoranda, and established expectations prior to operating any equipment. • Document all training as required. • Document and provide feedback on incarcerated worker job performance and behavior using documents including but not limited to infraction reports, incident reports, behavior logs, performance appraisals, certificates of proficiency, letters of counseling, or verbally, as appropriate and in accordance with DOC Policy. • Account for incarcerated workers in accordance with DOC Policy; to include informal counts, reconciliation of call outs, etc. • Assist the IS2 Business Manager in maintaining accurate timekeeping for incarcerated workers in D365 Timekeeping as required, to include but not limited to, adding new workers, time entries for hours worked, issuing monthly timecards and reviewing for accuracy, processing month end I/I payroll reports. • Participates in the interview and hiring process of incarcerated workers as needed and maintains their working files in accordance with CI Safety Programs. • Escort incarcerated workers to complete required tasks and duties. • Supervise and train incarcerated workers on tool safety, operation and maintenance of equipment in accordance with user manuals, L&I safety standards, DOC Policies, facility Operational Memoranda, and established expectations prior to operating any equipment. Administrative duties and other duties assigned: • Back up the Warehouse Operator 2 in their absence to include but not limited to ensuring Commissary and Quarterly Food Packages (QFP) are delivered. • Maintains maintenance records of equipment assigned to warehouse. • Monitor, approve/deny and ensure all leave is properly reported through My Portal and the Timecard System (TCS) in accordance with DOC policy and the CBA. Qualifications Required qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. • Two (2) years of full-time warehousing experience in shipping, receiving and inventory management. Requirements ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Determines the origin and cause of fires and explosions involving structures, equipment, vehicles, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, and other losses. • Assists in securing the fire/explosion scene to prevent removal or damage of potential evidence. • Conducts on-site, hands-on forensic fire analysis. This includes scene photography, interviewing witnesses and gathering information, taking possession of items, cause and origin determination, report preparation, and providing testimony in deposition and trial. • Searches for, identifies, collects, and labels any potential evidence/items from the fire scene, including devices used to set, start, or further the progress of fire; protects the chain of custody of potential evidence/items. • Provides technical and scientific support to clients for subrogation and litigation purposes. • Conducts code compliance research including electrical, gas, fire, building and installation code violations. • Facilitates and helps present continuing education seminars on fire-related topics. • Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES: • Must have a high level of analytical skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS, OVERTIME, and TRAVEL: • Physical Demands - Work is performed both in an office setting and at outside locations (i.e. Client's office, industrial, construction, and/or residential sites). Employee is frequently required to climb ladders, walk on roofs, and work in space-limited areas. Employee must wear a tight-fitting respirator during investigations. Employee may be required to shovel fire debris, move furniture and other household/ commercial items and operate lifts as needed. Employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be sharp, focused, and alert when conducting site inspections interacting with clients, preparing written reports of findings, and testifying in deposition or trial. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary. • Overtime - Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with one hour for lunch.
