Controlled Substance Clerk Under direct supervision, a Controlled Substance Clerk in the Shipping area of the warehouse is responsible for performing a variety of tasks that facilitate the physical movement of shipments into or out of the facility on behalf of a retailer or manufacturer. The Controlled Substance Clerk position requires high attention to detail and ability to read, understand and follow standard operating procedures specific to this position. Primary Accountabilities: For a Shipping Clerk • Process boxes or packages in the shipping stations that are ready to be released • Physically locate and pick each box included on an invoice for ship or destroy • Scan the outbox label to update the inventory database • Print and attach shipping labels and log carrier tracking numbers • Physically locate and pick each invoice for ship or destroy out of the database and the facility. • Follow instructions for handling any discrepancies noted • Always maintain a clean and orderly workstation and area Additional Responsibilities: • Performs other duties as assigned • Complies with all policies and standards Required Qualifications: • High School diploma (or its equivalent) required 1-3 years work experience in a warehouse or production job; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the responsibilities of this position required • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. • Able to follow standard operation and safety procedures • Able to work in an environment that is not climate controlled • Able to push a cart or hand truck up to 100 yards; able to use a pallet jack • Able to work under time pressure and meet production goals; able to work more than 8 hours per day (over-time) as needed • Able to handle hazardous waste materials with appropriate safety measures Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the major job responsibilities (essential functions) of this job. The hiring pay rate for this position is: $16.95 Incremental pay increase are provided at 3 months and 12 months of employment.
