About the Facility Texas Veteran's Affairs Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) The CMOP utilizes a combination of automated and manual procedures to prepare and dispense Over-The-Counter and legend drug prescriptions, controlled substance prescriptions, bulk type prescriptions, and medical/surgical products directly by mail to patients. The nature of services includes the operation and support of automated and manual filling equipment, and the preparation of prescription orders for mail-out dispensing. Facility Address: 2962 S Longhorn Drive, Lancaster, TX 75134 Shipping & Packing - RESPONSIBILITIES • Shall have knowledge of various items of stock in order to verify content. • Be capable of selection of appropriate type and size of container. • Will insert enclosures in containers. • Will use excelsior or other material to prevent breakage or damage. • Will close and seal containers. • Will apply labels or enter identifying data on containers. • Shall operate various types of packaging equipment. • Must be able to read computer screens and use scanning equipment. • Must be able to respond to alarms and alerts. • Shall maintain work area in clean and orderly manner. Shipping & Packing - REQUIREMENTS • Must have a HS diploma or GED. • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills with coworkers and staff. • Must have basic typing skills, PC computer skills, working knowledge of the MS Office. • Must read, understand, speak and write English fluently. • Must be able to lift 50 pounds when required; push or pull up to 150 pounds on a rolling cart or using a pallet jack. • Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time and being able to lift totes weighing up to 30 pounds repetitively. • Must be able to understand precautions required when handling hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
