We are one team, working together to get things done.Job Description:Office Location:Abilene, Texas, United StatesSCOPE/CONTACTS:Responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the debit card program and the Loss Prevention department while ensuring the work standards established for Loss Prevention are of the highest standard and in compliance with bank policies and government regulations. This includes advising, supervising, coaching, training Loss Prevention staff, and assisting the Loss Prevention manager. Frequent contact with bank officers, bank employees, and bank customers by phone and/or written communication. Results of work are rarely checked; consequence of errors is substantial, involving loss of time, money, and goodwill.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Supports the day-to-day operations of the Loss Prevention department.Assist with managing and training Loss Prevention employees.Assist with document and research requests from bank employees, auditors, compliance, and examiners.Work with the appropriate vendors to ensure our debit card program is in compliance and that changes are tested and implemented following both network brand and bank policies and procedures.Assist with submitting the Visa Quarterly Report.Work with the fraud vendor on innovative technologies or changes to improve cardholder experience.Understand how the various fraud monitoring systems work in order to help write/change rules to prevent fraudulent transactions from being approved.Assist with researching and posting missing ATM deposits.Review and analyze large checks and ACHs flagged for review in Yellow Hammer Fraud Detective.Communicate with the appropriate bank employees via email regarding Yellow Hammer Fraud Detective items that require customer contact.Reconcile the bank's official check accounts.Process debit card and Zelle disputes in accordance with Regulation E, Visa Zero Liability, and bank policy.Review miscellaneous debit card related reports.Monitor and analyze suspicious debit card and Zelle activity using various systems.Contact customers via phone and/or written communication to verify suspicious debit card or Zelle activity.Assist bank employees with debit card and Zelle related questions.Fulfill debit card supply orders and adjust branch card stock vault inventories as requested.Perform other duties as assigned.Duties and responsibilities require strong attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving skills, judgment, organization and high level of taking initiative and ownership.Incumbent is expected to assist Loss Prevention with meeting work deadlines when an employee or manager is out of office.Physical effort is average requiring visual attention and mental concentration for extended periods of time while using computer equipment for most of the workday.Actively participates in the service culture, supports the values of the organization, and follows established bank policies and procedures.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent is required.Seven years' banking experience is required with focus on the essential functions performed by the Loss Prevention department preferred.Two years' supervisory experience is required.Professional appearance and demeanor.Working knowledge of Regulation E is preferred.Analytical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to exercise sound judgement are paramount.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, both verbal and written, are required.Must have intermediate computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.Reliable attendance and the ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines is essential for this position.Must have the ability to look beyond the obvious to resolve more difficult banking transactions.Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality is required.Must be able to work in an environment with constant interruptions, handle stress, establish priorities and meet deadlines.Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment under minimal supervision.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. or assist with.The above statements reflect the general details considered necessary to decide the principal functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the job.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant. Laboratory Technician Position Under general supervision, performs technical laboratory work involved in collecting water and wastewater samples and performing a variety of standard and specialized chemical and microbiological tests. This position exercises no direct supervision. Laboratory Technician Trainee Collect samples and prepare for testing, including water, wastewater, and sludge. Calibrate, maintain, and set up equipment for various laboratory operations. Clean laboratory equipment and facilities. Perform chemical and mathematical calculations. Prepare and maintain quality control records, report files, and daily logs of samples and testing procedures. Conduct standard and specialized chemical and microbiological examinations of routine and special samples of raw and treated water, wastewater, and industrial waste. Prepare samples for shipment to other laboratories. Operate a City vehicle daily to travel to various water treatment plants, pump stations, storage tanks, lakes, sampling locations (including the entire water shed), and vendors. Laboratory Technician I, II Oversee and participate in conducting a variety of standard and specialized chemical analyses and microbiological examinations of regular and special samples. Supervise the preparation of specific laboratory equipment and standard reagents. Prepare and maintain necessary records and reports. Assist with the establishment and implementation of laboratory procedures. Collect and prepare samples. Train new personnel. Respond to public concerns Order and maintain necessary laboratory equipment, materials, and supplies. Other Job Related Duties Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Assists with the investigation of public concerns raised by citizens, as well as performing field samples when assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of laboratory techniques, practices, and procedures, including the operation and maintenance of standardized laboratory equipment. Experience and Training Guidelines For positions with more than one level, all listed requirements at the lower levels are required at the higher levels. Any combination equivalent to experience and training to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be qualifying. Knowledge, skills, and abilities may be obtained through: Laboratory Technician Trainee Previous experience in technical laboratory work is preferred. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any of the following fields: microbiology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, medical technology, or a physical or natural science is required. At least 24 hours of chemistry or 16 hours of microbiology, or 16 hours of biology, including 4 hours of microbiology, are required. (Dual credit, placement hours, leveling courses, and online courses in Chemistry and Microbiology do not count towards fulfilling this requirement.) A Class "D" Water License or a Class "D" wastewater license within twelve (12) months of employment is required. A Texas driver's license is required within ninety (90) days of employment, or a military waiver is necessary. Laboratory Technician I A minimum of six (6) months supervised training and experience in a laboratory or at the City of Abilene Environmental Laboratory is required. A minimum of a Class "D" Water License, or a Class "D" Wastewater License is required. Laboratory Technician II At least two (2) years of experience in conducting water, chemical, and microbiological laboratory tests is required. Candidates are required to possess at least two of the following: a Class "C" Surface Water license, a Class "C" Wastewater license, or a Laboratory certification from the Texas Water Utilities or American Water Works. Special Requirements Exposure to cold, heat, noise, outdoors, vibration, and confined space work. Exposure to chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards. Ability to travel to different sites.
