JOB DESCRIPTION The Prior Authorization Representative is responsible for verifying prior authorization requirements and obtaining authorization when required. Works directly with physician offices and payers to facilitate patient access to various therapies. Representative will ensure patient insurance coverage and benefits, identify requirements for prior approval and submit for authorization. Assists with appealing prior authorization denials, retro authorization or other special cases Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To Validates insurance patient's coverage, communicate any issues with benefits or coverage to the appropriate managers Checks the requirements for prior authorization and initiates as required Coordinates required paperwork, clinical notes and forms for submission to support request and initiates as required Follows up frequently to ensure visibility on authorization status throughout the approval process Basic knowledge payer payment process with detailed knowledge on the payer prior authorization process Basic ICD9/10 and CPT code familiarity, expert knowledge on subset of *** therapy codes Superior customer service skills with outstanding communication skills to use with various stakeholders; physicians, sales representatives, payer representatives, utilization reviewers, various internal and external stakeholders, Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to learn and use multiple CRM software programs as needed Good organizational skills with ability to handle multiple inquiries at the same time and critical problem-solving skills with high attention to detail Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Represents company to external and internal customers, answers productrelated questions, traces lost shipments, interprets and clarifies customer orders for the shipping department, takes orders over the phone when necessary. May manage webbased ordering, confers with management regarding customer credits, returns goods for credit, identifies quality assurance complaints, and writes price differentials on mail orders. May approve allocation of stock in short supply, special price quotations and bids, pricing allowances, deductions and adjustments. May manage inventories at customer facilities using EDI (electronic data interchange), forecasting, replenishment and inventory systems, focusing on stock and allocation issues to maximize service levels. OFFICE SUPPORT CAREER STREAM: Individual contributors who provide organizational related support or service (administrative or clerical) for other members within the organization. The majority of time is spent in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision. DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS Autonomy: Established and productive individual contributor. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Public Administration, Management, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related discipline. • 10 or more years of professional experience supporting Army logistics, materiel management, warehousing, supply management, DoD, or other complex Government organizations. • Experience supporting inventory management, supply chain operations, warehousing, logistics analysis, or organizational assessments. • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using spreadsheets, databases, reporting tools, and collaboration platforms. • Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information from multiple sources into concise, actionable recommendations. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing executive-level briefings, reports, and presentations. • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and work effectively within cross-functional teams. • Self-directed, detail oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in dynamic environments. • Available for occasional travel. • This position requires an active Secret security clearance. Construction Plans Examiner I/II The Community Planning, Housing and Development (CPHD) Department is hiring a Construction Plans Examiner I/II to join its Inspection Services Division (ISD). The Examiner is responsible for examining construction documents for commercial structures/buildings, including new construction, additions, and alterations to existing buildings to ensure compliance with the building design standards adopted by the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC). Projects are complex due to size, multiplicity of structures, advanced design of installed systems, and advanced construction methods and techniques. This position may also be responsible for reviewing other projects such as residential structures and one and two-family dwellings. Responsibilities Specific duties include: • Review and approval of construction documents for compliance with the International Building Code, International Residential Code, and VUSBC; • Interpret and enforce codes, regulations and ordinances; • Conduct field visits to survey and evaluate buildings and systems; • Provide code consultation services to builders, developers, engineers, property owners, architects and other governmental agencies; • Represent the division and the County at meetings and public hearings; and • Develop, participate, and defend code change proposals at the local, state, and national level. The successful candidates will possess the following skills: • Analytical thinking to perform work in accordance with accepted code standards and applicable legal ordinances and regulations. • Considerable knowledge of and the ability to apply modern principles and practices of building and architectural technical field. • Knowledge of, and a commitment to, customer-service and client-focused service-delivery systems, including knowledge of computer applications relevant to the field. • Skill in collaborating with architects, engineers, developers, contractors, and government professionals to facilitate compliance with applicable permitting, engineering, and code requirements. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse staff, community representatives, clients and professional peers, including effective verbal and written communication skills.
