UPS is seeking Package Delivery Drivers to safely operate delivery trucks and deliver packages to residential and commercial customers on an assigned route. Drivers are responsible for loading and unloading packages, following a scheduled delivery route, operating a UPS delivery vehicle, and providing excellent customer service during deliveries and pickups. Drivers must be comfortable driving a delivery truck, and some locations may require the ability to drive a manual transmission delivery vehicle. This position requires passing a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and maintaining a valid driver's license with a clean driving record in accordance with UPS and DOT regulations. This position typically pays $45 per hour or more for full-time UPS package delivery drivers, with additional overtime pay available during peak seasons.Drivers are responsible for meeting daily delivery quotas, using handheld scanners to track and confirm deliveries, following all UPS safety procedures, lifting and carrying packages, and maintaining a professional appearance while representing UPS. Drivers must follow company guidelines regarding safe driving practices, package handling procedures, delivery confirmation procedures, and customer interaction standards.Full-time UPS employees may be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, pension plan, 401(k), paid vacation, paid holidays, overtime opportunities, and union-negotiated wage increases. In this role, you will pull orders for customers and load orders onto our company delivery trucks. You will perform picking and loading duties using a forklift. Compensation is competitive and based on experience Benefits • Competitive compensation and bonus opportunities • Medical, Vision, Dental • 401k • Group Life Insurance • Flexible Spending Account • Paid Vacation Job Responsibilities • Perform multipoint inspections • Communicate additional service/repair needs to service advisors • Service universal joints, grease fittings, and steering knuckles using hand- or compressed-air powered grease guns • Inspect fluid levels in steering gears, power steering reservoirs, transmissions, differentials, rear axle housings and shackles • Check tire pressure • Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants • Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil • Add water to radiator and battery • Replace oil and air filters • Inspect all vehicles for additional repairs • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety standards and codes of conduct • Follow dealership safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes, dirt and harsh chemicals Qualifications • Must meet dealership's requirements for employment • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and information • Familiarity with all aspects of automotive repair/maintenance • Must have a valid driver license and be able to operate manual transmissions • Prior experience as a technician's helper or apprentice preferred • Effective communication and interpersonal skills Physical Requirements/Working Conditions • Occasional exposure to inclement weather • Ability to operate an automobile • Prolonged periods of standing, stooping and bending • Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects • Requires a significant amount of walking and/or standing. May also require working in the seated position for long periods while operating controls with arms and legs. This position may also require working at a production pace while pushing and/or pulling materials from place to place.
