Stagehand Job Description The Live Events industry is an always-changing business. Stagehands are crew members who work with their Team Leader, Steward, and Client to facilitate the set up, running, and breakdown of all kinds of Live Events including but not limited to: • Concerts • Sporting Events • Trade shows • Theater • Performing Arts • Corporate Functions • Parties • And more Stagehands work around a variety of clients with different needs, helping with lighting, sound, video, props, general scenery, tables, and chairs. Duties often vary based on the size and type of production. To be successful as a Stagehand, you should enjoy working with your hands and be prepared to learn new skills on the job. Outstanding candidates are self-starters with a can-do attitude, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with others. It is the responsibility of a stagehand to work with their Team Leader, Steward, and Client to facilitate the set up, running, and strike of a variety of events, including but not limited to concerts, trade shows, corporate events, and parties. Responsibilities Job responsibilities for stagehands include but are not limited to: • Loading and unloading trucks • Assembling production equipment on stage • Construction and or assembly of stages, set pieces, and risers • Moving furniture, road cases, and miscellaneous equipment • Setting up tables and chairs • Assisting the client by providing general labor • Moving, setting up and striking - sound, lighting, video, props, facility equipment, and other equipment according to client requirements • Performing a variety of backstage and and front of house maintenance tasks • Assembling equipment and support structures and breaking them down when the show is over • Maintaining a clean work environment, removing any backstage waste products • Constantly expanding your skillset Minimum Physical Requirements Team members hired for the position of stagehand must be able to: • Safely lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. • Tolerate extremes in temperature and weather conditions. • Climb stairs as well as fixed and portable ladders. • Occasionally work off of ladders Crouch, crawl and maneuver in areas with limited space. • Move heavy objects up and down ramps. • Reach overhead and perform tasks that require fine motor skills. • Climb on to or off of elevated work surfaces. • Grip with full range of motion of the upper extremities • Ability to hear and communicate verbally. • Ability to read and speak English. This position is considered a safety sensitive position because it involves some aspect of a heightened danger that requires your full unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute the job. This position will be subject to all aspects of the QSR Drug and Alcohol testing policy Stagehand Requirements: • High school diploma • Able to meet Minimum Physical Requirements • Excellent stamina and strength • Ability to collaborate with others • Willingness to work after hours and meet deadlines • Ability to focus under pressure and follow instructions • A completed apprenticeship would be favorable • Completion of QSR Orientation • Successful completion of QSR Stagehand Basics training • Experience in carpentry, electronics, or construction is a plus Additional Stagehand Roles With training and approval, stagehands may asked to fill the following roles during a job: • Truck Loader/Heavy Lifter - Team members who are responsible for safely working with heavy objects. • Climber - Team member who is assigned to climb over 6 feet above the work surface. Must wear a harness. • Camera Operator - Team member who is trained to operate a camera, either fixed or hand held, during a rehearsal or performance. • Cable Page - Team member assigned to manage cable during a live event show. • Spotlight Operator - Team member trained to operate a follow-spot during a rehearsal or performance. • Truss Spot Op - Team member who is also a climber that is assigned to operate a follow-spot from a truss. • Forklift Driver - Team member certified to drive a forklift • Scissor Lift Driver - Team member certified to drive a scissor lift • Flyman - Team member trained in the operation of ropes and counterweights. • Loading Bridge - Team member trained in adding weights to the flyrail. Transition Coordinator LP Location: Remote – must live in or near Buncombe, McDowell, or Caldwell County, North Carolina. The person in this role must maintain residency in North Carolina or within 40 miles of the North Carolina border. This position will serve Vaya's 22 western counties, and this position supports our high priority TCL population (discharging from State Psychiatric Hospitals). This position requires travel. General Statement Of Job The Transition Coordinator LP (TC) is responsible for providing proactive intervention and coordination services to persons residing in or being diverted from institutionalized settings prior to their transition to home and community based services. These services prepare members/recipients for discharge and assist during adjustment period immediately following discharge from an institution. This is a mobile position with work done in a variety of locations. The Transition Coordinator LP will work with members/recipients in their communities. Note: This position requires access to and use of confidential healthcare information or protected health information (PHI) as described in laws addressing patient confidentiality, including, but not limited to, the federal HIPAA law, the Confidentiality of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Patient Records law, 42 CFR Part 2, and various state laws. As such, the individual filling this position shall be required to be trained regarding such laws and shall be required to observe those laws in his/her capacity as an employee of Vaya Health. The individual filling this position shall also sign a confidentiality statement as an employee of Vaya Health. Essential Job Functions Transition Planning • Must be able to manage an active caseload of members/recipients in transition planning. • Will work with manager to create a yearly target number of successful transitions based on state benchmark. • Ensure that the Pre-Quality of Life survey is completed prior to lease signing date. • Educate providers of tenancy support about their respective roles and responsibilities and of the TC's roles and restrictions. • Adheres to boundaries within the In Reach, Transition, Diversion policy and does not provide services or supports outside of the scope of work. Monitoring • Ensure that monthly updates are received for transitioned members/recipients and submit auditing tool by deadline. • Work alongside community providers (i.e., tenancy support, medical health, etc.) to ensure they are providing needed services • Will be available for staffing and clinical consultation to other team members as needed Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities A high level of diplomacy and discretion is required to effectively negotiate and resolve issues with minimal assistance. This will require exceptional interpersonal skills, highly effective communication ability, and the propensity to make prompt independent decisions based upon relevant facts. Problem solving, negotiation, arbitration and conflict resolution skills are essential to balance the needs of both internal and external customers. Must be highly skilled at shifting between macro and micro level planning, maintaining both the big picture and seeing that the details are covered. The Transition Coordinator LP must exhibit an extensive understanding of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (current version) and have considerable knowledge of the MH/SU/IDD service array provided through the network of Vaya providers. Additional knowledge in Vaya Medicaid B and C waivers and accreditation is helpful. The employee must be detail oriented, able to organize multiple tasks and priorities, and to effectively manage projects from start to finish. Work activities quickly change according to mandated changes and changing priorities within the department. The employee must be able to change the focus of his/her activities to meet changing priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and Vaya information system is required. Education & Experience Requirements Master's degree in a Human Services field with clinical licensure (LCSW, LCMHC, LPA, or LMFT) required and two (2) years of post-human services bachelor's degree with accumulated experience with the population served or four (4) years of full-time, post non-human services bachelor's degree with accumulated experience with the population served. Licensure/Certification Requirements Master's-level fully Licensed or provisionally Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), fully Licensed or provisionally Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), fully Licensed or provisionally Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA), fully Licensed or provisionally Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Physical Requirements • Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparation and analysis of documents; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading. • Physical activity in this position includes crouching, reaching, walking, talking, hearing and repetitive motion of hands, wrists and fingers. • Sedentary work with lifting requirements up to 10 pounds, sitting for extended periods of time. • Mental concentration is required in all aspects of work. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) Certificate AND • Two (2) years of truancy experience OR • Equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability to pass required background check. OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge of state school attendance laws, and other pertinent laws regarding K-12 education; • Knowledge of state specific court procedures regarding truancy; • Familiarity with online learning environment; • Strong organizational and time management skills; • Strong written and verbal communication skills; • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.); • Ability to travel 20% of the time; DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Three (3) years of experience working with families in similar capacity, enrollment or truancy • Post-secondary degree especially in Education, Counseling, Human Services or related field of study.
