The Mental Health Technician is an active member of the inpatient team who provides direct supervision and interactions with adults who are experiencing serious and/or chronic mental health disorders. This includes, taking vital signs, serving meals and snacks, and monitoring clients' activities, and behaviors. The MHT routinely engages with clients in a manner that is respectful, professional, and courteous. SHIFT - SATURDAY/ SUNDAY- 7PM-7:30AM LOCATION: Calispel Inpatient Unit & Foothills Inpatient Unit ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following: • Monitor and supervise client activities and behaviors, including general supervision of milieu and completion of scheduled patient rounding. • Complete clear, objective clinical documentation regarding patient activities and behaviors in an appropriate time frame. • Provide feedback to clinical staff regarding patient interactions, activities, and behaviors. • Report suspected changes in patient condition and/or potential crisis situations to the charge nurse or unit leader. • Adhere to and follow the patients' written treatment plan. • Provide verbal redirection and gradual guidance to patients if needed and role model appropriate behavior including utilizing de-escalation techniques that align with FBH provided training. • Remain alert and provide direct line of sight monitoring of patients as needed. • Provide general house cleaning services i.e., vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, laundry, sanitation of counters etc. • Engage patients in social conversation, provide supportive listening, encourage and/or set up recreation activities. • Complete patients' personal belongings inventory and assist with admissions as needed. • Attend/participate in required trainings, meetings, and supervision sessions. • Serve patient meals and snacks. • Maintain and enhance customer service to ensure that both external and internal customers of FBH have a positive experience. • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all RNs', providers and FBH staff. • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE: REQUIRED: • Must have an active Nursing Assistant Registration or Nursing Assistant Certification at time of Application. • High School Diploma or GED • Food Handlers Permit within 7 days of hire. • Active BLS certification or must obtained within 90 days of hire. PREFERRED: • Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats, including the ability to complete objective clinical documentation. • Ability to communicate with individuals of various backgrounds, education levels, and socio-economic status. • Must have basic computer skills including ability to document in an electronic medical record, use electronic time tracking, use of Outlook, Word, and intranet.
