Ground Systems Operations Helper ARES Corporation is an employee-owned aerospace and engineering services company supporting critical national programs across NASA, the Department of Defense, and other Federal agencies. ARES is seeking a Ground Systems Operations Helper to support launch range infrastructure, processing systems, maintenance activities, and operational support functions at Wallops Flight Facility. This position supports multidisciplinary teams responsible for safe and effective operation of ground systems and associated mission support infrastructure. Key Responsibilities • Support operations, maintenance, and sustainment activities associated with ground systems and launch support infrastructure. • Assist with installation, modification, and maintenance of aerospace processing and support systems. • Perform corrosion control operations including sandblasting, welding, metalizing, and painting activities. • Support maintenance and operations activities involving mechanical and electrical systems. • Assist multidisciplinary teams supporting range vehicle and spacecraft processing systems. • Support inventory management, transportation, fabrication, and maintenance program activities. • Identify and help implement improvements that enhance operational performance, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness. • Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and quality procedures. • Support operational activities involving hazardous materials, rigging, cranes, forklifts, and related equipment as required. • Attend required technical and certification training programs. Required Qualifications • High school diploma and two years of related experience, or an Associate degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology, military equivalent, or related vocational certification. • Strong communication and customer service skills. • Ability to perform physical labor and support operational field activities. Desired Qualifications • Experience in one or more related technical areas such as: Cryogenics, Aerospace fueling and decontamination, Mechanical or electrical systems, Fabrication, Transportation, Maintenance operations, Clean room operations, Corrosion control, Hazardous materials management, Crane and rigging operations • Willingness to learn multiple technical disciplines and pursue required certifications. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Territory Growth • Proactively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across hospitals, health systems, outpatient imaging centers, private practices, and physician groups • Maintain a strong in-market presence through regular in-person meetings, site visits, and client engagement. • Build long-term relationships with executive, clinical, and operational stakeholders • Develop and execute territory strategies that prioritize high-value targets and growth markets • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution Promote the Full Suite of Assured Imaging Capital Offerings • Mobile mammography services utilizing in-house fabricated coaches • Mobile Medical Imaging Coaches available for sale or rental • Sales and service of diagnostic imaging equipment (new and used) • New service and/or product offerings as we develop them Solution Development & Execution • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (clinical, operations, service, and engineering, project management, and fabrication) to design and present tailored imaging solutions • Lead contract negotiations in alignment with company policies, compliance requirements, and established pricing and margin objectives. • Seek out and represent the organization at tradeshows, conferences, and industry networking events • Track all sales and business development activity in Salesforce and provide weekly reporting on pipeline progress and revenue forecasts Independent Sales Ownership • Operate as a senior individual contributor responsible for personal performance • Work autonomously with strong self-direction and accountability • Contribute to team success through collaboration, shared insights, and market intelligence Qualifications Required • 3–5+ years of experience in capital equipment or diagnostic imaging sales (e.g., mammography, CT, MRI, X-ray or similar imaging systems) within the medical imaging industry (OEM – GE, Hologic, Siemens, etc). • Demonstrated success in new business acquisition and territory expansion (“hunter” background) • Demonstrated success in self-generating leads and building a sustainable sales pipeline, with accountability for prospecting, nurturing opportunities, and driving deals from initial outreach through close • Strong understanding of diagnostic imaging modalities such as mammography, CT, MRI, X-ray, and related capital imaging systems, along with healthcare buying processes and reimbursement models. • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and in-person relationship-building skills • Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to support in-person client engagement, site visits, and territory growth.
