Workspace is restricted and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods of time. Employees must prepare hot and cold foods, use Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment and work quickly without losing accuracy. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand up to four hours and reach across counter tops measured at 36 inches to serve customers. Kitchens are hot and noise levels are usually high; storage space is limited and shelving is high. Requirements Required Skills & Abilities: • Possess a strong mechanical ability. • Must be able to do basic math. • Knowledge of the physics of load and weight distribution and center of gravity. • Forklift operators must have a good knowledge of warehouse arrangement and functionality. Education and Experience: • High School Diploma or equivalent. • 5+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment as a forklift operator. Physical Requirements: • Must be able to pass forklift certification training and physical exam. • Must be able to lift loads of up to 100 pounds without the lift truck. • Ability to climb, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, and reach above shoulder level. • Ability to withstand varying temperatures. • Must be able to work in different positions for a very long period of time and ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel or walk for up to eight (8) hours at a time. • Must be able to utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment required for each job task (Steel toed shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat).
