Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description This role works in a production environment with a primary focus on cleaning ink splatter from machines and surrounding areas to maintain a safe, clean, and contamination-free facility. The position involves hands-on work with ink totes, floors, and walls, using basic hand tools and cleaning equipment to remove dried ink and residue while supporting overall production operations. Responsibilities • Clean ink splatter from production machines, including all accessible surfaces, to maintain a clean and safe work area. • Clean floors, walls, and other surfaces in the production area to prevent contamination and maintain housekeeping standards. • Spray out ink totes thoroughly to remove ink residue and prevent cross-contamination of products. • Use basic hand tools to scrape and remove excess dried ink material from totes, walls, and floors. • Lift and move products weighing 40–50 pounds consistently from the floor and other areas as needed. • Perform general labor and production support tasks such as organizing materials, assisting with ink-related processes, and maintaining a tidy workspace. • Carry out janitorial and cleaning duties in and around the production area, including power washing when required. • Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working with cleaning tools, ink materials, and production equipment. • Use basic math skills to complete measurements and calculate various metric systems for weighing product and verifying correct quantities. • Collaborate with team members to support production goals and maintain a positive, safety-focused work environment. Essential Skills • 1 to 2 years of experience in general production, warehouse, labor, or cleaning roles. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently and safely. • Ability to meet physical demands such as frequent bending, lifting, and moving products throughout the shift. • Experience performing general labor tasks in a production, warehouse, or similar environment. • Ability to operate basic hand tools for scraping and cleaning dried ink and other residues. • Ability to use basic math to complete measurements and calculate various metric systems for weighing product and ensuring accurate measurements. • Comfort working in an ink manufacturing or similar industrial environment with cleaning and janitorial responsibilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Production janitorial experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. • Prior janitorial or cleaning experience in a facility, warehouse, or production environment. • Previous general production experience supporting manufacturing processes. • Familiarity with power washing equipment and industrial cleaning methods. • Experience in environments related to ink production, packaging, or print media is a plus. This is a first-shift position, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with no overtime required. The role involves regular physical activity, including lifting, bending, and moving products, as well as working with cleaning tools, power washing equipment, and ink-related materials. Safety boots are required while on the production floor and can be provided by the employer. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Des Moines, IA. Each donation can impact up to three lives, but not in its whole blood state. This is where YOU come in! We're looking for a full-time Component Technician to join our amazing team of LifeServers. As a Component Technician, you will work in our lab manufacturing whole blood donations into transfusable components (red cells, platelets, and plasma), playing a central role in the lifesaving process for patients in our communities. The manufacturing process involves the use of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and equipment, such as centrifuges. Component Technicians are also heavily involved in instrument quality control and maintenance. Shift: • Monday - Thursday 10pm - 830am • Full time Compensation: • Wages start around $18.75/hour. • This position is eligible for a $4 shift differential applied to work after 6pm and before 6am. You have a strong attention-to-detail. You navigate fluctuating demands like a pro by way of your excellent communication skills. Key responsibilities: • Process blood components according to established policy and SOP. • Perform review of component manufacturing and equipment related documentation and release of quality control results. • Perform calibration and maintenance tasks. • Identify, troubleshoot, and document problems that may influence the quality or completion of blood manufacturing. • Assist with validation of new equipment and manufacturing processes. • Perform data entry and navigation within multiple computer programs. Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent is required. • Associate's degree or higher preferred. • The ability to multitask and set priorities is essential. • This position requires use of knowledge and judgement to ensure accuracy of tasks related to quality. • Proficiency with computers is a must; experience with MS Office is preferred. Working conditions: • Repetitive tasks and repetitive motions during long periods of standing will occur over the course of the work shift. • This position requires work in a variety of environments. The bulk of the work will occur in ambient room temperatures with limited time working in refrigeration or freezing temperatures. Handling of refrigerated and frozen products will occur on a daily basis. • Work will occur in areas with ambient noise from equipment and alarms. • Holiday work shifts are dependent on the business needs of the department. Team members may work a holiday dependent upon business needs.
