Job Description: The primary responsibility of the Scheduling Engineer is to prepare and manage the master project plan within one or more jobsites, including but not limited to schedule analysis, variance reporting, resource loading, and cost loading. A successful Scheduling Engineer works closely with project leads to create a schedule for all components and phases of the project with a clear critical path to ensure timely project completion. They proactively collaborate and communicate with project team members and leaders to understand, manage, and mitigate risks to schedule, budget, or quality. These may include analysis of acceleration options (multiple shifts, weekday OT, weekend OT) to recommend the best option and offsetting against risks with different approaches. Responsibilities • Lead scheduling sessions with the Fortis Project Team, Client Project Teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. • Actively participate in weekly pull planning sessions. • Conduct site walks daily or as needed to accurately understand current stage of construction in relation to the plan. • Proficient use of tools to create and manage master schedule (P6 Primavera and Microsoft Office Suite). • Active listening with all project resources and ability to communicate needs effectively when capturing inputs, outputs, and requirements for the plan. • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, and develop schedules for varied projects and programs, within a construction setting. • Understand how complicated systems go together to properly sequence detailed activities and to creatively re-sequence a schedule when conflicts arise. • Process and incorporate delay claims and time extension requests and familiarity with various types of schedule analysis. • Assist in other duties as assigned, relevant to the achievement of the position's and team's objectives. Qualifications • Demonstrated knowledge of methods of construction practices and project execution. • Computer Skills: Proficient in working with P6 Primavera and in Microsoft Office Suite. • 4+ years of experience as a Project Scheduler / Scheduling Engineer. • A strong work ethic and a "can-do" attitude. • Must possess a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Fortis policy. Physical Requirements • Work is performed in a professional office environment. Role is stationary, often standing or sitting for long periods of time, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Communication with internal and external contacts, including speaking and hearing is required. May occasionally push, pull or lift up to 25 lbs. Travel Requirements • All Fortis positions require some level of driving. We hire Patient Access Schedulers in a class format tied to training schedules. Training is the first 4 weeks of employment so we start a group of individuals to go thru training all together. We will be looking to start our next class August 31, 2026 tentatively. We don't currently know the schedules/shifts we will be looking to fill, but historically it tends to be a variety of shifts/schedules. Typically either day or evening, some part-time, some full-time. Some schedules may include weekend days and others may not. The Patient Access Scheduler position is responsible for: • Pre-registering and scheduling patient appointments for assigned services to the appropriate location with appropriate providers in an attentive and courteous manner. • Directs calls to appropriate area for services not provided in Patient Access Scheduling. • Receives requests for information and ensures that material is distributed in a timely manner. • Schedules, admits, and pre-authorizes insurance for all patients in area assigned. • Acting as the first point of contact for our system, partners with the caller/patient to facilitate an empathetic and compassionate solution, assisting the patient in navigating our complex system. • Ability to work in a remote environment, maintaining quality and performance expectations in a self-directed manner.
