What You'll Do The focus of this job will be on packaging materials and preparing products for prompt shipment on an accurate and timely basis. • Prepare merchandise for shipment by labeling, packaging, preparing records of goods shipped, and posting weights • Verify shipments are correct • Verify material received from warehouse and assembly cells • Communicate discrepancies • Assure that shipping documents are processed properly • Perform light clerical duties • Operate forklift, pallet jack, and other material handling equipment • Maintain stock in an orderly and safe manner • Keep the work area clean • Responsible for prioritizing outgoing shipments • Responsible for inventory control • Reject damaged goods and follow company procedures for returns • Lift and move heavy objects • Communicate to crew leaders or assistant distribution manager any problems • Load and unload trucks • Wrap and strap pallets • Perform other duties as assigned by crew leaders or assistant distribution manager Your Experiences & Skills • Formally trained in the principles and methodology of Lean Enterprise, one (1) year experience is preferred • Previous shipping & receiving experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred • Previous hand scanner experience • A persuasive speaker to both peers and superiorshas natural charisma • Must have legible handwriting • Flexibility to effectively adapt to changing conditions and job assignments • Ability to work well with others • Ability to interpret written instructions and specifications • Good mathematical aptitude • Basic product knowledge • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and routines related to customer deliveries • Must be able to attain and maintain a forklift license • Excellent communication skills; verbal and written Benefits • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, and zero card • Life, death, dismemberment, and dependent insurances • Prescription drug programs • Telehealth • Short-term and long-term disability, and flexible leaves of absence • Employee assistance programs • 401k (match 50% on the first 6% of deferred compensation) and flexible spending plans • 3 weeks of paid time off • 9 paid holidays • Wellness and Engagement Location: Tulsa, OK Department: Distribution Work Environment: Manufacturing/Warehouse Reports To: Assistant Distribution Manager Shift Type: MondayFriday (5-8s), with the flexibility to work overtime when needed. Distribution Handler The Distribution Handler position verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following essential functions and responsibilities to quality and productivity standards. Team members in this position also share responsibility for warehouse organization, warehouse cleanliness, inventory management and continuous process improvement. Requirements • At least 18 years of age. • Grade 12 or equivalent and one year of factory or warehouse related experience in shipping and receiving. • Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math. • A valid driver's license. • Ability to obtain a license to operate a forklift or lift truck. Prior experience with forklifts is preferred. • Proficient with modern business systems including MS Office, Email, and general ERP systems. Compensation and Benefits: • Pay is $16.00/hour • Shift: Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm • Paid Time Off • 401(k) with Company Match • Health, Dental, and Vision • Company Paid Short Term Disability Insurance • Company Paid Life and AD&D • Parental Leave • EAP Essential Functions and Responsibilities: • Fulfill customer orders and intercompany transfers following Shipping procedure. • Palletize and package orders for shipment using proper packaging equipment including banding and wrapping. • Maintain warehouse facility and equipment including general maintenance and proactively identifying service needs and maintenance requirements. • Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas. • Unloads, receives, and documents inbound shipments following Receiving procedure. • Sort and label as necessary for company inventory. • Maintain warehouse organization practicing FIFO for all inventory material. • Participates in physical inventory counts as directed and reports all discrepancies to Facility Manager. • From time-to-time, may be required to work overtime including weekends and holidays as necessary to accommodate our customers' and business needs with proper notification. • Organize and consolidate items by moving products forward on pallets and shelves, and make sure labels are facing forward. • Identify and quarantine items that are no longer used or have expired. • Responsible for counting inventory, recording inventory locations, and maintaining inventory records in the company ERP system. • Perform daily cycle counts as assigned by supervisor. • Perform other duties assigned by Management.
