Job Type Full-time Description Reports to- Cemetery Grounds Superintendent Supervises- None Position - Hourly/Union $ 20.94 POSITION SUMMARY Grounds crew upon supervisordirective may be responsible for but not limited to: • Skilled grounds maintenance: mowing, irrigating, fertilizing, weed control, fall clean up and winterization. • Set up for funeral services and related tasks such as: digging graves, setting vaults/liners, opening and sealing crypts and niches, setting up service equipment for funerals, lowering caskets into the grave, closing and repairing of the grave. • Setting granite memorial markers, monuments and benches. • Snow plowing/removal and back-hoe work. PRIMARY DUTIES, REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Mow lawns using a variety of different riding and push mowers • Troubleshoot, diagnose and perform repairs irrigation along with daily watering responsibilities • Fall cleanup and winterization using rakes, blowers snow throwers and plows • Dig graves utilizing a backhoe and dump truck • Set granite markers, monuments and benches • Perform funeral services to include lowering of casket or placement of urn • Perform all duties while adhering to all company policies and procedures • Also other duties as assigned Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Proactive attitude and effective communication are essential • Cooperative, team player, detail-oriented and adaptable to change • Commitment to customer service and quality • Efficient, dependable and punctual • Demonstrate commitment to safety PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be physically able to perform all tasks related to grounds maintenance.
