Medical Receptionist Orlando - GEMD - Winter Park - Winter Park, FL 32789 Overview Position Type Full Time Job Shift On Site Travel Percentage Negligible Description A Patient Service Specialist will play a very key role in the success of the facility and the patient's overall experience. Strict adherence to organizational protocols and values is a must. A Patient Service Specialist will work in a fast-paced and exciting environment and apply their skills in a highly visible and critical role. GEMD provides non-hospital-based emergency care in a hyper-efficient delivery of Emergency Medicine Specialty Services combined with an outpatient facility efficiently providing high quality care that can yield lower ER visits, lower hospital admissions, and create savings. Essential Job Functions • Entering new patients into the patient database. • Verifying insurance. • Getting authorization from insurance companies. • Putting together patient charts. • Scheduling patient appointments. • Collecting copays and contracted rates from patients. • Coordinating admissions. • Auditing charts for completeness and obtaining any missing information from the clinical team. • Follow the information security policies and management system, contributing to their effectiveness, and actively reporting on their performance. Qualifications This position does not currently have supervisory responsibilities. Required Education • High School diploma or equivalent required. Preferred Qualifications • Active BLS certification is strongly preferred. • Previous patient services experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
