We are looking to hire a Clinic Lab Assistant As a Clinic Lab Assistant at MercyOne, you will perform phlebotomy and laboratory support services in an outpatient clinic setting. Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying orders, collecting and processing specimens, and preparing lab orders and reports. This role ensures quality and accuracy in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational mission, values, and performance expectations. • Performs phlebotomy procedures (venipuncture and capillary) and collects other specimens following proper protocols. • Prepares, labels, and processes specimens, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to regulatory and infection control guidelines (e.g., CLIA, COLA, OSHA). • Conducts waived and routine lab testing; reports and documents the result in the electronic health record, including critical values. Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots lab equipment; performs and documents quality control and proficiency testing. • Verifies lab orders and medical necessities; completes ABNs and corrects billing codes as needed. • Accurately enters and manages data in the Electronic Health Record (EHR); reviews and corrects billing reports. • Maintains supply inventory; stocks areas appropriately and communicates needs to supervisor. • Provides patient-centered service by communicating test procedures, results, and follow-up instructions clearly and compassionately. • Assists with clerical duties including faxing, copying, filing, scheduling, and answering phone calls. Supports cross-coverage needs, within scope, throughout clinic/lab areas. Serves as a resource for colleagues and patients. • Follows all safety, infection control, and universal precaution standards; maintains a clean and organized work area. • Deliver patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, and documentation. Assist with various procedures, exams, and diagnostic equipment (e.g., tympanometry, spirometry). Maintain aseptic techniques during preparation, procedures, and medication administration. Schedule: • M,W,Th,F - 7:30 am - 5:00 pm; Tues 7:30 am - 11:30 am; no weekends General Requirements: • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. • Completion of medical terminology or phlebotomy training preferred. • Previous laboratory or phlebotomy experience preferred. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross required within 30 days of hire; must be maintained. • Mandatory Reporter training for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse required within 3–6 months of hire; must be maintained. • Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows environment, web-based navigation, email, MS Office). • Ability to work with diverse groups of people in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. • Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patient, visitors, and colleagues while performing their job duties. • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health. In this role you will manage the process and performance involved in daily activities of the warehouse to achieve established operating income and ROA goals. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and establish necessary staffing systems, processes and procedures to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely customer order fulfillment. • Investigate and establish root cause of shipping and receiving errors and implement corrective action plans. • Build and maintain supplier partnerships; work with suppliers to ensure items are delivered to time and quality specifications. • Work in conjunction with the regional Buyers and Supply Chain Managers to coordinate product movement, warehouse space requirements, and stock rotation. • Assist in developing plans for selling aged inventory in partnership with the Sales team and regional Buyers. • Monitor and approve all freight transactions, including review of freight adders on a semi-annual basis. • Oversee the annual physical inventory process and regularly scheduled cycle counts. • Develop systems, processes and procedures to optimize equipment and related resources, including effective material movement and logistics, while delivering value to our customers. • Utilize third party rating tools, routing techniques and mapping tools that assist in making quality decisions that minimize freight costs. • Monitor the receipt, coordination, and safety of goods coming through the warehouse using the Warehouse Management System. • Ensure orders arrive and are dispatched on time to appropriate destinations and in expected quantities. • Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records; recommend corrective actions to resolve discrepancies. • Plan layout of warehouse and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored. • Analyze records and recommend corrective action for reported non-usable, aged, and excess stock. • Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of inventory levels. • Monitor and evaluate expectations and performance of warehouse and delivery staff through coaching and development opportunities. • Promote a high level of customer focus and lead a quality managed warehouse environment; create an environment that encourages respect, teamwork, communication, customer satisfaction, and productivity between team members, following the Integrity Service model. • Communicate and ensure all requirements pertaining to warehousing/material handling, safety, and shipping are followed by staff. Expected Skills and Qualifications: • Minimum 5 years' experience in a warehouse environment, including supervisory experience • Proven track record in a team development role • Experience with order picking, shipping, receiving, inventory counts, pick/pack • In-depth knowledge of FIFO, OSHA requirements, safety awareness, and HAZMAT shipping • Proficient in MS Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook) with the ability to learn and master internal systems (SAP) • Proficient with WMS, B2B functions, near-miss and SDS, UPS, FedEx, and dedicated logistics systems • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Additional Preferred Skills and Qualifications: • Forklift certification • Associate's degree Pre-Employment Requirement: Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
